I Am The Bone Of My…Wait, What?

Fate fans all over the world are gearing up for the release of a new trilogy of films starring their favourite Servants. The first of these, Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel – I. Presage Flower, promises an even darker take on the Fifth Holy Grail War. As expected of the franchise, we can expect plenty of stunning visuals and blinding fight scenes.

And in celebration of the event, Aniplex has decided to release a fidget spinner inspired by the character of Lancer aka Gae Bolg.

You heard that right.

According to an article on Crunchyroll –

Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] – 「Ⅰ.presage flower」, the first part of an anime movie trilogy of the Sakura-focused third route in Type Moon’s visual novel, is scheduled to hit Japan on October 14th. There’s a US premiere coming November 3rd and then more American screenings later in the month. The wait for this anticipated feature might have been more bearable if Aniplex plus had been quicker about giving Type-Moon fans a distraction. Like, say, a spinner inspired by Lancer’s namesake weapon.

As part of their limited offering for events, the Aniplex+ online shop and collaboration shops are retailers like Tokyu Hands and Gamers, the mini-Gae Bolg hand-spinner sells for 2,000 yen. You’ll have to supply your own Nobutoshi Canna impression for the accompanying yelling.

If you thought that the craze was over, just wait until fans get their hands on this.

While we would have preferred literally anything else in terms of promotional material for the movie, it still hasn’t diminished our anticipation for Heaven’s Feel. According to fans of the visual novel, the plot is based on the most violent of the three routes, meaning that all that shonen action we got in Unlimited Blade Works should be scrapped and replaced with something that feels a little more like Fate/Zero. 

But hey, if the film turns out to be a flop, at least we will always have this fidget spinner.
