Let’s be honest here, last year was a damn good year for the gaming industry. Nintendo came out swinging and gave us arguably Mario and Zelda’s greatest adventures, Horizon Zero Dawn was a triumph for single-player campaigns and awesome female characters everywhere, and the indie scene was bursting at the seams with engrossing new content like Cuphead and Night in the Woods.Â
You know what else it excelled at? Sexy as hell characters. Seriously, there were so many smoking virtual guys and gals that that even when they were mired in depressing and violent situations, they still got players’ hearts racing. In that regard, the following ten easily stand above all of 2017’s other contenders.

The Phantom Thieves’ resident blonde bombshell. While she may spend her nights purging corruption from the hearts of adults, she makes our own flutter with just a single look. That red leather outfit might have something to do with it.

“Yakuza 0†(2017)
Violent, vengeful and one of the underworld’s most notorious fighters. Kazuma may like to settle things with his fists, but that doesn’t make him any less of a looker.

Nathan Drake’s former flame is a femme fatale in every sense of the word, especially when it comes to seduction and shooting down helicopters with rocket launchers.

How can you not love a man who slays Nazis for a living? Blazkowicz is pretty much the American sweetheart you have been dreaming of. He just happens to be in the business of cutting up Third Reich scum with a fire-axe.

“Horizon Zero Dawn” (2017)
A female outcast looking for her place in the world, who also takes on the might of giant robot dinosaurs with a bow and arrow. Aloy is the fantasy embodiment of girl power, one whose journey gripped us from beginning to end.
#2: Sebastian Castellanos
“Evil Within 2†(2017)
There’s just something about a grizzled, former detective pulled back for a final case that manages to ignite the passions of fans. How he manages to keep his swagger while facing off against so many nightmarish beasts we’ll never know.

She may be a machine, but thanks to her skilled swordplay, choice in wardrobe and sorrowful past, we fell in love with 2B from the moment we laid eyes on her.
