So not the drama.

Regarded as one of the best animated shows Disney ever produced, Kim Possible centered on the adventures of the eponymous teenage crime-fighter (Christy Carlson Romano) and her trusty sidekick, Ron Stoppable (Will Friedle). The series ran from 2002 to 2007, producing 87 episodes. Now Disney has announced that Kim will return in a live-action movie.

3. It’s a Disney Channel Original Movie

If you were hoping to see Kim Possible on the big screen, you might want to lower your expectations just a little. Rather than being a theatrical release, this live-action interpretation will be a Disney Channel Original Movie. This actually won’t be the first time Kim has ventured into DCOM territory, as she previously appeared in 2003’s A Sitch in Time and 2005’s So the Drama.

2. The Series’ Creators Are Returning

While some might be disappointed that Kim’s first live-action outing won’t be on the big screen, they can take solace in knowing that creators Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle will act as writers and executive producers. Josh Cagan of The DUFF will also help pen the  script. Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky, who both competed on Fox’s On the Lot reality show, are co-directing the project.
