Top 3 Video Games That Would Make Great Cartoons

They’re Just Begging To Be Adapted!

Some video games are so ingrained into the medium that trying to adapt them onto the big or small screen often ends in failure. This might explain why so many blockbusters based on iconic games like Assassin’s Creed and Resident Evil have ended up failing so badly. That being said, the world of western animation opens up a myriad of possibilities, especially if its paired with a title filled with rich characters and narratives.

While these titles definitely still work best in their original format, we still feel that these particular three have the potential to be turned into epic and entertaining animated series!

#3: “The Binding of Isaac” (2011)

Definitely on the more mature side of the spectrum, an adaptation of this addictive yet disturbing game would have to hold nothing back in the fright department. With the plot following a child named Isaac as he tries to escape his crazed religious mother through their basement, he finds himself encountering all manner of horrific monsters lurking in the dark. Depressing, haunting and filled with countless intricately grotesque boss characters, this has the potential to be a creature feature that will spook you silly.

#2: “Overwatch” (2016)

It fast became one of the most popular FPS’ of all time, with it quickly becoming clear that for every competitive player, there’s a fan who’s into it just because they adore the game’s quirky cast of characters. Given the incredible cinematics that Blizzard have released over the years in promotion of the game, we see no reason that the likes of Tracer, Genji, McCree, Widowmaker and the rest shouldn’t get their own series. Perhaps something in the same vein as Young Justice?

#1: “Undertale” (2015)

Granted, the meta gameplay, divulging pathways and morality system would have to be scraped in order to make the transition to TV. While each of those act as a fundamental aspect of what makes Undertale such a great game, we still feel that what’s left would still provide for a magical viewing experience. The tragedy of Flowey, the joyful banter of Papyrus and Sans, Undyne’s unwavering badassery,  Frisk’s journey home, all these in the hands of a genius like Gravity Falls’ Alex Hirsch and we guarantee both newcomers and fans would be in for a treat.
