Where Would They Be Without These Lovely Ladies?
Sometimes awkward, often hilarious, forever supportive, these are the animated women that have shown above all else that they love their children no matter the circumstances. Given how said circumstances might include their kids turning into animals or detonating the world with a thought, their unconditional affection just comes across all the sweeter. It’s fair to say that without their positive influence many of our favorite anime heroes may have gone to the dark side from an early age…
Out of all the many contenders, we have to pick these three mothers for just how endearing and lovable they come across in every scene they’re in!

#3: Kurumi Saiki
“The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.” (2016; 2018)
Never seen without a smile, Kusuo Saiki’s mother might just be one of the happiest characters in all of anime. She doesn’t seem to mind that her child has the power to destroy the world with his immense psychic powers, Kurumi loves her son regardless. She may be a little on the naive side, but she’s so full of life that you can’t help but bask in her overly positive attitude and feel totally uplifted.
#2: Inko Midoriya
“My Hero Academia” (2016-)
The mother of the soon-to-be-world’s-greatest-hero is just too pure for words. While she nearly has a heart attack every time she sees her precious son in any form of danger, Mrs Midoriya nonetheless chooses to support his dream of becoming a hero. Her worrywart attitude is both unbelievably cute and oddly charming, even if does often lead to her weeping rivers of tears on occasion.
#1: Hana
“Wolf Children” (2013)
Her life was thrown into chaos the moment she discovered the man she loved was a werewolf, and yet she still went on to make the best of it. After losing her beloved, she dedicated her whole life to protecting and raising her two adorable hybrid children. Despite all the various hardships given their origins, Hana still manages to instil life lessons to her children while also displaying her unquestionable love at every turn. Whether you’re human or wolf, no one could ask for a better mother.
