Top 3 Weirdest Celebrity Cameos In Video Games

Well, We Didn’t See That Coming

Voice acting in video games has certainly evolved over the years, to the point that some famous faces have even tried their hand at it. A few notable ones have actually added to the experience, others were an obvious paycheck, while there are some that still have us scratching our heads in confusion. We can’t decide if these cameos are a stroke of genius or the developers just lost their minds, it still doesn’t change the fact these celebs now have a place in video game history.

Yes, that is Jeff Goldblum staring in a live-action role in Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland. Are you really that surprised?

#3: Phil Collins
“Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories” (2006)

He can feel it coming in the air tonight. As it happens, “it” just happens to be bullets raining down as gunmen try to assassinate him. That’s right, it’s up to you to navigate the former Genesis singer through Vice City so he can get to his concert without losing his head. It’s certainly a crazy cameo, but perfectly fits with GTA’s style of black humor. The game even rewards you at the end by allowing you to go and check out his gig!

#2: Burt Reynolds
“Saints Row: The Third” (2011)

On second thought, maybe this casting is a little too perfect. Turns out the Oscar nominated actor is actually the Mayor of Steelport, enlisting the help of the Boss and the Saints to stop a zombie outbreak. Because of course he does. The more we think about it, given the amount of drugs, guns and hookers it has, we can’t imagine anyone else running this crazy city but Reynolds!

#1: R. Lee Ermey
“Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex” (2001)

We are not joking, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman is in a Crash Bandicoot game. Granted, we were already perplexed since Wrath of Cortex also managed to get Back to the Future’s Biff as well as Luke Skywalker on-board, but this was something else. As the Water Elemental Wa-Wa, the Full Metal Jacket actor brought his signature sternness to the role, promising to drown our favorite orange-furred hero unless he backed off. If we had known back then who was behind the voice, we would have listened!
