Bring On The Madness
With a sweet smile, seemingly innocent demeanour and unholy obsession with gambling, Yumeko managed to light up last year’s anime scene with her crazed exploits, battling the student body of her new school in a torrent of deadly games with the penalty of social servitude on the line. Not that she cared, as the only thing she lives for is the thrill of the gamble itself. Her beautiful bizarreness pretty much had us hooked from the first episode.
With news that the show has already been given the go ahead for a second season, you can imagine how excited fans are to reunite with Yumeko and all her eccentricities. While we have no doubt she’ll manage to once again charm us with her creepy outbursts, we’re hoping that we see the following three narrative elements implemented in the sequel series.

#3: Yumeko x Ryouta
It was somewhat hinted at during the final episode, but we’re hoping the relationship between our two leads is further explored. While originally nothing more than a stand-in for the audience, Ryouta’s decision to give into the madness and assist in Yumeko’s final gamble certainly changed her perspective of him somewhat, not to mention give him some much needed development. Let’s hope this trend continues, since it would be a waste not to further explore the growing dynamic that these two share.
#2: The Twins
The reveal that Kirari has an identical sister made for an interesting twist, prompting us to question just how many times the two of them have swapped positions over the course of the series. Hopefully we’ll get some insight into what promises to be a less than pleasant past, and just how they managed to gain such a cynical view of humanity. Still, at least Yumeko has twice the competition to deal with now!
#1: Crazier Gambles
Russian roulette, betting against a sexual deviant, wagering billions of yen, the first season had no shortage of high-stakes matches. Hopefully the trend will continue and the series will give us a new plethora of games that are filled with both creativity and deadly consequences. No matter the mental state of her opponents, we all know that Yumeko will manage to take them down a peg. After all, she’s always the most insane person in the room.
