Top 3 Anime That Need Video Game Adaptations

Ready Player One?

Anime and video games have a complex relationship, you never see one without the other, yet the final product can range from enjoyable to abysmal. It’s certainly a case of quantity over quality. That being said, we are surprised that a few heavy hitters haven’t been given their chance to shine on PC and consoles, especially how their respective narratives would easily translate over.

Whether for their intense action scenes or intriguing premises, we feel that these anime should certainly be next in line to get their own games!

#3: “Overlord” (2015; 2018)

It’s a tough job trying to conquer the world, but somebody has to do it. Ainz Ooal Gown easily decimated every foe who came his way given how he’s the most OP video game character in existence, which can lend itself quite well to a potential combat system. The way we see it, an Overlord game should implement both the strategy of the Ruler of Nazarick’s war campaign as well as an endless slew of crazy battles. Fire Emblem + Dynasty Warriors with an undead litch at the helm sounds like an awesome combination to us!

#2: “Hellsing Ultimate” (2006-12)

When it comes to Alucard, you’re bound to get two things; maniacal laughter and a massive body count. As the embodiment of pure carnage, playing as the Vampire King as he decimates his foes with both fangs and guns would make for a beautiful, bloodsoaked experience. Not one for subtlety, a video game version of Hellsing would have to bring the action in spades. We’re more than eager to see a new stylised third-person shooter in the same vein as Gungrave. Give the count his due!

#1: “Kill la Kill” (2013-14)

Eroticism has never been so epic. With insane fight sequences, a pair of phenomenally entertaining female leads and a unique take on some classic anime tropes, Studio Trigger’s fast-paced action romp ended up getting such wide appeal that even veteran developers Platinum Games showed interest. Given how they made Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance we’d say they’re the perfect candidates for bringing Ryuko and Satsuki’s high-speed clashes to life.
