Marksmen In The Making
Armed with nothing more than a bow and one hell of an eagle-eye, anime has gone on to show that in both period pieces and fantasy shows, archers can easily hold their own against those with superior weaponry. Turns out that a well-placed arrow can turn the tide of battle pretty easily, even if your opponents are creatures from your darkest nightmares!
With their swift aim and deadly precision, we think its fair to say that these three archers would even give Legolas a run for his money.
#3: Ashitaka
“Princess Mononoke” (1997)
Now this is a prince who knows how to get things done. With his village in danger from both the corruption of the forest as well as the approaching Irontown forces, Ashitaka finds himself setting out on a journey alongside the warrior known as Sen in order to restore harmony. His noble heart is only matched by his skill with the bow, he did manage to snipe down a wicked boar god all by himself after all!
#2: Nasu no Yoichi
“Drifters” (2016)
This figure of history may be on the young side, but there’s no denying his prowess as a hunter. Able to scale literally anything, Yoichi’s aim proved to be an invaluable asset to Nobunaga and Toyohisa as they took on the threat of the ENDS. Sure, he can’t hold his liquor and is way to easily mistaken for a girl, but the fact he can pierce a legionnaire’s throat through his armor from miles away in the dark proves that his skills are beyond the pale of sharp.
#1: Archer
“Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works” (2014-15)
With the arrival of every Holy Grail War, you can always count on an Archer-class servant to make an appearance and shake things up. By far the most iconic of the bunch would be this crimson-clad warrior in service to Rin Tohsaka. He managed to slice up the competition, delivering a series of awesome speeches, and floored fans with the revelation about his true identity. Besides, not only is his aim on point, but his arrows have one hell of a kick to them!
