Fulfill Your Destiny
During the 10th-anniversary celebration of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, series supervising director Dave Filoni announced that the show will return with 12 new episodes on Disneyâs upcoming streaming service. In a trailer that is sure to have fans of the series in disbelief, we are re-acquainted with series regulars and the distinct visual style the show is known for.
After debuting in 2008, the show quickly developed a passionate fan base, and despite Netflix picking up the show after its cancellation to air “The Lost Missions” in 2014, the series was never given a true ending as many episodes were written but unproduced. Now, it seems fans will finally get the conclusion they’ve been waiting for.
Fans have been clamoring for Lucasfilm to give the series the ending it so desperately needs, circulating but few thought it would actually come to pass. Now, with new episodes on the way, we can finally say that Clone Wars was saved thanks in large part to the passionate fanbase.
According to Dave Filoni in an interview with StarWars.com, “Itâs been very humbling to have their support and to have people continue to hashtag me, â#SaveTheCloneWarsâ […]Â Any opportunity to put the final pieces of the story in place is meaningful as a storyteller. Iâm happy for the opportunity to define these things and the end of this part of the Clone War. ”
