Hell Hath No Fury Like A Succubus Scorned
With its nightmarish ascetics, challenging puzzles and dark approach to the dating sim element, Catherine managed to turn itself into something of a cult hit. Telling the story of a lost soul named Vincent whose abject fear of commitment has him meandering through life without meaning, until he seemingly finds himself entering a sexual relationship with a mysterious young woman, all the while having to climb a deadly tower each night in his dreams or risk death. The choice between Catherine and Katherine made for a riveting gaming experience, so much so that it seems that the girls are making a grand return in the form of a remastered version for the PS4.
According to an article on Crunchyroll –
“Atlus originally unveiled Catherine: Full Body as an enhanced version of the puzzler last December, with the USA branch following up shortly after with localization confirmation. Now, thanks to the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine, we know its very appropriate Japanese release date. Vincent better practice his climbing now, because Full Body is heading to PS4 and PS Vita in Japan on February 14, 2019.
Full Body boasts over 500 stages, more than 20 new animated scenes, an Arrange Mode with new mechanics, and the ability to change Catherine’s voice.Â
Nine additional voiceovers will be added as DLC on top of the option to choose between Catherine’s main voice Miyuki Sawashiro and Mamiko Noto (Persona 3‘s Fuuka). The other voices have yet to be announced, but apparently they have each previously played an “adulterous lover” role.”
With the announcement of a third love interest named Rin along with additional scenes/endings for both original ladies, Full Body is looking to be the definitive Catherine experience with a few extra bells and whistles to entertain longtime fans.
