Top 3 Things Worth Buying on Black Friday 2018

Prepare for Battle

Whether you’d camp out all night, brave the swarms of people in-stores, or simply go to town online from the comfort of your own home, Black Friday is among us and we want you to be ready. It’s all too easy to fall into the common trap of thinking every deal is a good deal, but fortunately, we’ve put together a comprehensive list of items that we’ve deemed worth your time and money, be they electronics, video game accessories or kitchenware items and appliances. You can thank us later.

Electronics

Probably the most popular items to purchase on Black Friday and for good reason, considering some of these deals. We’ve split it up into some basic categories to make sorting through your options easier!

TVs

If we’re being honest, although the deals are pretty unreal, a lot of them require in-store purchases which, if you’ve seen our recent video on Another Top 10 Most Insane Black Friday Catastrophes, then you know that’s basically the equivalent of going to war. For this reason, we’d recommend checking out Amazon for some TV savings up to $100 like on the Toshiba 50” 4K HDR Fire or the 43-Inch TCL 4K Roku for $320 ($80 off), unless you’re feeling brave enough to go into Walmart for their 65-inch 4K smart Roku TV for only $398.

Smart systems

If you’ve been looking to hop on the voice-controlled device train, these are some sales that might interest you. Amazon has deals on pretty much all of its Echo systems like the Echo dot at half off for example. The Google Store is also taking part in the Black Friday madness with tons of sales on their products including the Google home mini which is listed at half it’s original retail price (this deal is also found at Walmart).

Phones

If you’re planning on avoiding the Apple Store this year (smart decision), we suggest staying on Google’s online store where the Pixel 3 is $150 off and the Pixel 3XL is $200 off, not to mention, starting this Monday, all Pixel 3 purchases include a FREE Google home hub and $50 Google store credit. Walmart also has some interesting smartphone deals, offering gift cards to their store with the purchase of various phones on plans with either AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon, for example, the iPhone XR is being retailed at $750 which earns you a $300 Walmart gift card.

Tablets & laptops

The numerous deals on laptops and tablets are also worth looking into this year, with Amazon listing tablets like the latest 32G iPad model off $80 and featuring sales on a ton of their Fire tablets, for example the Fire HD 10 is now $100 at Amazon ($50 off). According to The Verge, Microsoft is also joining in on the fun with deals on their Surface computers, like the Surface Pro 6 (Intel Core i5) marked down to $999 from its original $1,329 price. But don’t feel too stressed for time, Costco and Best Buy are also offering similar sales if this item sells out!

Accessories

Of course, we couldn’t forget the smaller items with deals that still merit some attention such as the Fitbit Versa, Bose wireless headphones and Beats X wireless headphones that are all marked down considerably at Walmart and the Apple Watch Series 3 starting at $200, saving you $80 at Target.

Video Games

If your electronic needs are aligned with your gaming needs, this section should sum up the purchases to keep your eye on. In terms of game consoles and accessories, a huge seller this year is the Xbox One X which is available for $100 less than it’s regular retail price on Amazon, Microsoft and at Walmart, or you can try asking your parents to borrow their Costco card because they’ve also got a sale on this popular console too. Otherwise, it might be worth it for you to splurge a bit more and get Best Buy’s offer of the Xbox One X with the Battlefield V video game AND an additional controller for $430. Additionally, Microsoft has an Xbox One S 1TB Minecraft Creators bundle at $199 (usually $299) and Walmart has pretty much the only worth-it sale on the Nintendo Switch (although it’s currently out of stock), bundling it WITH Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for only $299! Walmart also has games for the Switch, Xbox One and PS4 almost all at 50% off!

Kitchenware & Appliances

Finally, if you’re in the mood to spruce up your home before the holidays and prepare yourself for the inevitable dinner parties and family visits, these discounted items are for you. Amazon has some fairly solid sales on kitchen items like the InstantPot Duo Pressure Cooker for at $40 off it’s usual price and the famous and ultimate kitchen goals stand mixer, the KitchenAid Classic Plus Series for $110 off! Costco also came in clutch this year marking down their Arlo Pro Smart Home Wireless Security Cameras $170. In terms of appliances this year, it honestly depends on how much you need, because most of the deals, such as those at Home Depot and Lowe’s, only become worth it if you purchase at least three or six appliances…
