Star Wars: Episode IX Finally Gets a Title & Trailer!

An Early Christmas Present for Everyone!

During the “Episode IX” panel at the Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago today, a teaser and title were finally released for the the third and final instalment in the new trilogy. Although this film will conclude the Skywalker saga, the title “The Rise of Skywalker” suggests that we’re still one epic journey away. Before we dive into the details and some fan reactions, check out the teaser and help us vote on our list of the Top 10 Biggest Questions About The Rise of Skywalker Teaser Trailer below!

The teaser opens on Rey in the desert and Luke’s voice telling her: “We’ve passed on all we know. A thousand generations live in you now. But this is your fight.” From there, the battle begins.

We get glimpses of Kylo Ren fighting in a forest and repairing his helmet, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca on the Millennium Falcon, BB-8 and the newest droid cast member Dio, Finn and Poe looking pensive while C3PO flies under attack through the desert and an emotional shot of Rey hugging Leia.

The trailer ends on a grim cliffhanger, with Skywalker saying “No one’s ever really gone,” to the image of a dishevelled Death Star, followed by a creepy cackle presumably from Emperor Palpatine. Clearly this trailer left us intrigued and unsure of what to expect, so we’re putting together a list of questions we NEED answers to. Like who is the “Skywalker” in the title referring to? Why is Rey using Luke’s lightsaber? Was that really Emperor Palpatine’s laugh???? Help us! Join in on the fun by voting on the list below!
