No Host, No Problem?
The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night and if you decided against sitting through the entire live show, don’t worry, all you missed was the show running unconventionally short, no host, comedian Thomas Lennon throwing in questionable voice-over commentary, and surprisingly no awards for “Veep” and “Game of Thrones” being humbled by their unusually low on-screen trophy count.
Now, let’s skip ahead to everyone’s primary concern: WHO WON?!…and who was snubbed? Although they didn’t dominate the screen last night, “Game of Thrones” picked up the majority of their awards last week and did still walk away with the award for outstanding drama series. There were also some pleasant surprises, like “Fleabag” and HBO’s “Chernobyl” taking home multiple awards. Julia Garner from “Ozark” also beat out the powerhouse of female “Game of Thrones” supporting actress nominees including Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Masie Williams and Gwendoline Christie, which fuelled a few Twitter fires. To find out who took home the remaining awards, here is the complete list of the 2019 Emmy Awards winners!

I love you, brothers. Thank you for choosing me. I hope this night makes you feel celebrated + seen. And that our brothers, sisters + siblings behind bars because theyâre poor + innocent while the rich and guilty walk free feel seen in some small way too.
