Dubbed "The Last Great Coliseum", "the Bullring", and "Thunder Valley", this high banked half mile provides loud racing, crowds of 150K , and the Bristol Night Race is one of the most anticipated races of the year with its historical and exciting finishes like the 1995 and 1999 night race battles between Dale Earnhardt and Terry Labonte.
This track is home to one of the oldest races on the NASCAR circuit, the Southern 500, one of the Crown Jewel events. Starting in 2015, the speedway hosted its throwback weekend, complete with throwback uniforms, hairstyles, paint schemes, even the televised broadcast of the race uses throwback graphics.

This is the hometrack for many teams in the top 3 tiers in NASCAR. Many teams like earning a win for "the guys back at the shop" because the shop is in the Charlotte area. This track his home to the Sprint Cup All Star race, an exhibition race with a $1M grand prize to the winner, and the longest race on the NASCAR circuit, the Coca-Cola 600.
