In a game against the 49ers in 1964, Vikings DE Jim Marshall recovered a fumble and ran 66 yards to the End Zone. One slight problem: it was the WRONG End Zone. Instead of getting a Touchdown, Marshall gave San Fran a Safety.

After the Seahawks and Packers were tied in the 2003 Wild Card Playoff game, Seahawks QB Matt Hasslebeck won the coin toss before emitting a phrase that would bite back at him. He was right in a sense. Unfortunately, it was a Pick 6 by Packers CB Al Harris.

Baseball can be a bit funny to figure out. Then there's Giants' Ruben Rivera. In the bottom of the 9th in a 2003 game against the Diamondbacks, Rivera started to run on Marquis Grissom's hit, only for the confusion to start at 2nd base. He was tagged at Home Plate as "The Worst Baserunning in the History of the game."

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson didn't learn his lesson from the All-American Bowl during his rookie season. On a Monday Night Game in 2008 at Dallas, Jackson caught a pass ahead of the Defense and scored an easy TD... except that he flipped the ball at the 1-yard line. The TD wasn't.

G Patrick Roy was one of the best goalies in the NHL. However in Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Final against the Red Wings, Roy made a diving stop of a slap shot but as he got up and risen his glove to stop play, the puck wasn't secured and rolled in the net. Colorado wouldn't recover.
