Brosnan was trying to do too much. He's not a believable Bond in my opinion. I can only think of him as a guy trying to be a modern Connery. He tried to be suave, but he looked like he was trying. Only 1 out of his 4 films were any good. And his last is arguably the worst of the franchise.

He did it his way. He didn't try to be anyone before him. He just is Bond. He's more like the book Bond than almost all of the rest. He is suave and seductive, yet he is emotionally broken; a cold killer. He has internal battles, and shows much more character depth than that of Brosnan, Moore, or Lazenby.
