After the reveal that he was a double agent in season one, Ward became one of the team's greatest enemies. Finally, after killing someone important to Coulson, the Director of Shield and the agent of Hydra faced off for the last time. This battle ended with Coulson crushing Ward's rib cage.

Even knowing that he would be in the show, Coulson's return surprised all of us. Expecting something serious, what we got was a light hearted scene that was filled with humor, reminding who Coulson is.

Fans of the series have probably accepted by now that Coulson might as well be unkillable. And in this scene, we see Coulson accept this as well, saying "Dying is my superpower "
