Not my pick for the best of all time, on account of Mega Evolutions completely replacing any further bonus evolutions instead of just being an addition to it. Also, it has a borderline non-existent postgame, although this is somewhat forgiveable since it has the longest main game of any Pokemon game to date. That, and it did not introduce many new

An improvement on the first Black and White, but still a part of the worst generation of Pokemon to date, and suffering from one of the blandest regions to date (albeit less linear this time), and a focus on a poorer new set of Pokemon. The story is also very anticlimactically ended, and the encounter rate is infuriatingly high, to the point that y

Also, the original Gold & Silver has the best pos

It removed a lot of great features from the previous games, and was the first to make certain Pokemon unavailable, as well as not getting to travel to previous regions. The perfect sequel, building entirely on the original games whilst losing nothing, introducing more balanced type matchups and a fantastic new pair of types, a fantastic rival in Silver, a far richer region than Kanto, and some of the best Pokes to date. Plus, getting to explore Kanto afterwards,

The Distortion World was great, and Team Galactic account for the best overarching story in a Pokemon game yet. Other than that, it's completely boring, has few good new Pokemon and relies on crap evolutions to old Pokemon, and Sinnoh is a chore to travel.

Besides a slightly more balanced type matchup and the totally pointless Sevii Islands, this remake doesn't bring much new to the table.
