This is the big one for me. Before One Piece, the power of Elasticity was a joke. It be used more for restraint or like sneaking under a door or reaching something far away. But with One Piece, we see just how crazy powerful complete mastery over elasticity can be.

This is another one made cooler through anime. Often a villian's power, a lot of times it's just an illusion or just a strength in numbers type of thing where they just kind of pile on an opponent or used to trick someone to going after the fake. Anime and manga tend to make the matters more tense with this power or in Naruto change rules all toget

Even they way they looked when running didn't really leave and impression of being super fast. But in anime and manga, you really felt how power and killer super speed could be. In

Phasing

Another power that seemed pretty harmless in early US comics and cartoons. Characters just kind of float there or seemed they couldn't touch anyone else in return. Anime took a more realistic and darker approach with this power. Not only did they show off the speed and real mobility in shows like Read or Die, but with full mastery of the skill also

Pretty much the hallmark of Japanese abilities. Back in the days, things like fire, lightning, heat vison etc. They were often reserved for inanimate objects. Metal a beam here. Power a motor there. Or when they were used on people, they either be used on people like Superman and someone with shield, harmlessly being blocked. But anime and manga sh
