Quidditch is monstrously dangerous. At any given time, two flying heavy balls are looking to smash players off of their brooms, which are soaring high above the ground. Students on brooms can reach highway speeds, untethered to their vehicles, and with no automatic features that ensure their safety should they fall.

Backfiring regularly, Ron's wand could have easily killed someone. No attempts were made to stop him from using it.

Hagrid tells Ron and Harry to "follow the spiders," which leads into the dark forest and up to a swarm of spiders that wants to eat them. All Hagrid was trying to signify was that he wasn't a criminal, but in our world, he's reckless.
