Star Wars fans have been known to ignore or misunderstand important messages and themes of Star Wars. From hating the Ewoks even though Yoda said that size matters not, to hating that Luke did not fight Kylo Ren, despite another bit of Yoda advice about Jedi using the Force for knowledge and defense and not attack.

Romanticizing elements of the originals

Star Wars fans have been worshiping the original films as if they were best picture winners or the world to them. In truth, while the movies are good, they are just popcorn entertainment. And some beloved elements were not even that good. Boba Fett has little character despite being loved, Vader is a rather genaric villain despite being frightening

Failing to notice when Star Wars is criticizing them, or complaining when it does.

The character of Kylo Ren was deliberatly written to be mockery of Star Wars fans who complain about movies. So when he complains, loses his temper and whines, that's Disney showing Star Wars fans a mirror and telling them to be better then this. Instead, fans keep whining.

Complaining about spec edition changes which if you stop and think about it, don't really alter the story.

If you look at the Special Editions from a more mature viewpoint, you'd notice that the changes actually have little to no change on the overall plot, because the older elements they replace also had little story impact either. The story of Star Wars is what's important, not who shot first.

When The Force Awakens was released, fans complained that it was too similar to A New Hope and said thy wanted something different. Then when The Last Jedi was released, fans complained it was too different. Ironically, they also complained the prequels were too different from the originals. Do fans wish for Star Wars to evolve? Or be frozen? They

Racist and sexist comments

When the more ethnically diverse cast for the sequel trilogy was revealed, John Boyega endured a boycott from fans because he's black. While Kelly Marie Tran was harassed by racist online hate comments. All of this is pretty hypocritical if you think about it, considering many fans accusing the prequels for being racist.

Unwillingness to adapt to modern times like Star Wars does

Star Wars fans seem to think that Star Wars is just escapist good vs evil fantasy. But in truth, it ALWAYS has had social commentary in it. The Galactic Empire was modeled after several facist regimes in history including Nazi Germany, Ancient Rome, and even Reagan era America. The Prequels had references to the "War on Terrorism". So now, with the

Older Star Wars fans have been known to harrass and bully not just Star Wars actors, but also fans who liked the Prequels and Sequels. Causing them to feel unwelcomed in the Fandom, and casuing the fandom to lose new fans. Is this good for a fandom? Absolutly not.

Thinking Star Wars was made for those who grew up with the originals and for that group alone, when Star Wars is for everyone.

Older fans who grew up with the older movies in the 70's and 80's tend to think that Star Wars is for them alone and expect to feel like a kid again when watching new movies. In truth though, Star Wars is for EVERYONE.
