Shari Lewis was very open about the fact that her show was intended to engage and entertain, and not necessarily to educate. So while you may have fond memories of this show, we need to acknowledge it for what it was: Purely for entertainment.

Your kids might pick up a little Spanish here and there, but beyond that, all they'll learn is that, when Dora asks if they want to go on an adventure, they can say no and she'll still respond "Great! Let's go!"
