Can you “Feel It Still?” Listeners sure can. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 3 Reasons Why “Portugal. The Man” is Trending .

For this list, we are looking at this indie rock band and the reasons as to why everyone is talking about them!

#3: They’ve Been Called the Most Shazamed Band in America
Various bands have been given this unofficial title over the years - Milky Chance with their song “Stolen Dance”, Marian Hill with “Down,” and so on. Topping the Shazam charts doesn’t automatically mean a number one hit. What it does signify however, is that when people hear your song… they NEED to know who it’s by so they can find it and listen to it again. Basically… it means you’ve crafted one seriously catchy and distinct song. With “Feel It Still”, Portugal. The Man produced a piece of music that stands out, and companies took notice. With it’s inclusion in an iPad Pro commercial, it reached countless listeners, and they were quick to Shazam the one-of-a kind tune.

#2: Miley Cyrus Lip Synced Their Song "Feel It Still”
You know what else makes people take notice of your music? Endorsements by other musical artists - pop stars in particular. When Miley Cyrus not only takes an interest in your song, but praises it publicly and then proceeds to lip sync it on Jimmy Fallon, well, you’ve officially gone viral in a big way. When she visited the talk show host in October of 2017, she followed up his ventriloquist puppet performance of Julia Michaels “Issues” with a high intensity performance of “Feel It Still”. To say that the crowd went wild… is an understatement. The INTERNET went wild would be more accurate. Something tells us that Portugal. The Man saw yet another streaming boost that day.

#1: Lead Singer John Gourley's Voice
Just ask any producer… you can craft the world’s catchiest song, but unless you find just the right set of vocals to give it voice, well, that track might not reach its full potential. Thankfully, Portugal. The Man comes built-in with a singer that turns heads. Whatever register he’s singing in, John Gourley captivates. But on “Feel It Still” he pushes his Bee Gees-like falsetto to deliver an almost feminine performance. Like so many high-voiced male singers before him - Axl Rose, Steven Tyler - Gourley can’t help but generate conversation with his distinct vocal stylings. And in the age of social media, conversation is crucial to success.
