Welcome to MojoPlays, and today, we're taking a look at the 10 “Danganronpa” Characters That Will Make You a Simp! Given how many colorful characters there are in the “Danganronpa” games, everyone will find one that captures their heart. However, these fine students of Hope's Peak are the ones that will have you defending them until the end, even if they end up being the murderer. Our list includes Akane Owari, Celestia Ludenberg, Miu Iruma, Chiaki Nanami, and more!

This handsome young man makes purple look good. Kaito Momota knows how to rock the “bad boy” look and does so without being a jerk. If anything, he’s kind of an idiot, but of the lovable variety. He can get overconfident and will admit when he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Even though we don’t see much of the Ultimate Astronaut’s skills, Kaito does seem knowledgeable in a few languages and some survival and medical training. So, he isn’t a total doofus, and even if he was, we’d shoot off into space for him...that is, if he hadn’t already.
This girl’s got so much energy it’s almost impossible to keep up with her! All Akane seems to worry about is exerting that energy and exercising all day long, whether that be competing in a race or sparring with you. After beating your butt, she’ll gorge herself on whatever food she can get her hands on. And yes, she will even turn eating into a competition. One would be exhausted being around Akane, but to us, all of these are enough reasons to protect her...until she starts talking about wanting…”it” from Nekomaru. (Seriously, why are they calling it that? This is an M-rated game, isn’t it? Eh, whatever.)
Yeah, the masochists are most likely to find themselves compelled to be around Celestia. Hey, we aren’t judging! Some folks like being around someone with class and sophistication that can snap into a bossy witch without warning. We witnessed this first-hand when Hifumi was trying to win her love and she, to no one’s surprise, took advantage and made him her slave. Even with her level of arrogance, there was something about Celestia that we wanted to see more of. Unfortunately, things got lucky when she got found out. SHE WASN’T FRENCH???
Whereas Akane is intense almost all day everyday, Ibuki is just a few notches below that. ...A few. This darling punk girl knows when it’s time to rock and when it’s time to...well, rock even harder! Really, don’t be surprised if she suggests doing something one might describe as “batshit crazy” because chances are it will be. However, getting to know her more in Free Time mode unveiled an Ibuki who does want something intimate and fun, a soul mate to be her best friend, or as she puts it, “band mate”. *sniffle* Shut up, you’re crying! Protect Ibuki at all costs!
Some folks might be attracted to a person who seems to be shy around others. Honestly, we felt that way about Shuichi throughout “Killing Harmony”. Look at the lad! He’s clearly been sheltered for most of his life! Even when feeling strong emotions, Shuichi does his best to maintain a gentlemanly stature and be respectful even when the girls are fawning over him. It’s okay, Shuichi - we’ll be waiting for you right here when you’re ready to talk or if you desire the company. No pressure, and don’t any of you talk to my son ever again.
A lot of the “Danganronpa” ladies display a rainbow of personalities ranging from reserved and peaceful to hyperactive and vibrant. Though, Miu is more like...how do we put this...freakin’ loud and vulgar as hell! Not a moment goes by where she ISN’T calling some guy a perv and humiliating him in front of anyone only to make some lewd and flirty remark seconds later. She’s just a big bully, which makes her more of the Ultimate Tsundere than Inventor. ...Won’t stop us from farming for Love Keys, though. We see you, Miu.
At first, we found Kyoko to just be the token “anime character with a mysterious background”. It sort of made her a little more alluring, but as we progressed in “Trigger Happy Havoc”, we saw beyond the pretty face and classy sense of fashion. Kyoko is an insanely smart student, able to think several steps ahead than even someone like Monokuma. Come on, who else could have predicted the After School Lesson punishment to go haywire? Shuichi, we’re here for you every step of the way, but Kyoko is the Ultimate Detective that takes top priority.
Yeah, we had to put the token “gamer girl” on here, and it’s absolutely NOT because this is a video game channel! In all seriousness, Chiaki is almost as smart as the likes of Kyoko and Shuichi and has found ways to apply video games to her everyday life and critical thinking skills. In a world where gamers are typically depicted in a manner similar to Hifumi, Chiaki is a constant breath of fresh air. Her soft-spoken voice, her occasional ditzyness… It all made it so painful to watch her execution in “Goodbye, Despair”. Damn you, Monokuma! She was the best queen we had!!
What? Noooooooo! Nooooo, Aoi isn’t on here on account of any kind of favoritism! Absolutely not! Not here on MojoPlays! No, our darling Hina is the best girl! No one else manages to balance confidence and determinism with a carefree and bubbly attitude. Everyone is one extreme or the other whereas Hina is a bit more collected. Plus, even if she’s trying to stay fit and trim, she won’t shy away from a night in a box of donuts. Which box we digging into first - boston cream or classic Krispy Kreme? ...Mmmmmmm, Krispy Kreme..
Look, everyone on our list here has been great and all, but we all know that Junko is not just the Ultimate Model or the Ultimate Despair or the Ultimate Whatever. In our eyes, she is the Ultimate Lord of the Simps. Even if you don’t simp for her, Junko has managed to amass legions of fanatics vying for her attention and spreading her message of despair for three main games, several spin-off games, two animes, and a large handful of manga. No one else, no matter how gorgeous, no matter how likable or smart or charming or funny, will rule over an army of simps as large as Junko’s. Now, succumb to the despair and join us.
