“Deadpool” (2016)
Part of Deadpool’s origin story involves getting revenge. To achieve this vengeance, Wade Wilson dons his crimson mask and hunts down those who wronged him. His methods vary, but in this particular instance, Deadpool is poised to run over a fleeing baddie with a slow-moving Zamboni. While tediously (and hilariously) chasing him on an ice rink, Pool mocks the bleeding man for the nature of his impending death and demands to know where “the boss” is. And while we don’t see the kill itself, it’s very much implied that he followed through with his threat… eventually, that is.

In his pursuit of Francis Freeman, Deadpool decides to drop in on a convoy of armed goons – literally. Once he lands inside the SUV, the punches fly almost as fast and the jokes. Deadpool causes all sorts of mayhem and manages to flip the car amidst a high speed shootout. Needless to say, the entire vehicle gets totaled, killing everyone but Deadpool in graphic and spectacular fashion. The sequence is fast paced, stylized, and features some truly grisly kills. You can almost hear R-rated action fans cheering in their seats.

In this Deadpool comics storyline, dead U.S. presidents are brought back to life and are intent on destroying America. So, when Ronald Reagan decides to enact his “Star Wars” program and launch missiles from outer space, Deadpool strikes the space station along with a bunch of rabid chimp astronauts, naturally. When he battles the 40th President of the United States, things get messy when Wade does some handy work with his sword. The finishing blow is made using explosive decompression, sucking Reagan into deep space. There are a lot of great Deadpool kills in the comics, but this one is an over-the-top gem.

“Deadpool 2” (2018)
The sequel to 2016’s smash hit Deadpool film begins with Wade Wislon doing what Wade Wislon does best – looking good in red leather. Well, that and killing people…lots of people. We see Deadpool go international with his mercenary pursuits, hunting down Triads, Yakuza, mafia dons - basically criminals of every shape and size. The entire sequence features a plethora of creative and comedic kills. So much so that picking just one is fairly impossible! Oh, did we mention it’s all set to Dolly Parton’s 80’s classic “9 to 5”? Now that’s a “chef’s kiss” of a song choice if we’ve ever heard one!
#6: Countdown Kills

Following the spectacular highway crash sequence, Deadpool finds himself surrounded by bad guys. And, unfortunately, he’s low on ammo. With only 12 bullets at his disposal, he begins to count down how many he uses as he carries out his kills. A few “wasted shots” aside, Wade manages to take them all down with just his own guns. He also gets plenty of points for style, given that he manages to shoot several from a prone position. Plus, there’s all that unnecessary flipping. It’s an endlessly entertaining scene and one we can’t help but be in awe of everytime we watch it.
#5: “Agent Smith”

Deadpool’s road to vengeance includes finding the man who not only recruited him, but introduced him to his tormentor, Francis. The unnamed recruiter, who Wade refers to as “Agent Smith” (after the “Matrix” character), is eventually located. After taking out his bodyguards, Deadpool has “Smith” right where he wants him. Although the man offers to tell him where Francis is, Deadpool decides to do something first. We say “something” because Deadpool turns the camera away, keeping us in the dark. While this is another off-screen kill, the comedy of the fourth wall break, along with our own imaginations, go a long in “filling in the blanks.”

Deadpool’s gradual dismantling of Francis’ organization is very enjoyable. We’re treated to a glorious montage of Wade taking out various grunts and goons as he works his way to the top. His costume and tactics evolve over time, as he learns what works and what doesn’t. For example, red hides blood well. In addition to the “Zamboni kill,” some other standout moments include his creative use of a safe door and his uncertainty about including the female underlings. There is also Wade’s constant questioning, asking everyone “Where’s Francis?” (including a Spanish version). Oh, the Deadpool rap is pretty great too.

Giving Deadpool a time machine is a recipe for disaster - not to mention hilarious shenanigans. The conclusion of “Deadpool 2” sees Wade use such a machine to not only save his girlfriend Vanessa, but also kill people throughout history and alternate timelines. In a fan favorite moment, Deadpool goes on to confront the much-maligned version of the character from “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” Wade takes out his “mouthless” doppelganger and then gives some advice to Wolverine. He then follows it up with another “correction.” This time it’s extra “meta” as he offs actor Ryan Reynolds, who has just read the script for “The Green Lantern.” What a humanitarian.

When Deadpool finally tracks down Francis, he and the snide Brit faceoff atop a decommissioned helicarrier. Once his target is beaten to a pulp, Wade interrogates him on how to fix his deformities. Unfortunately, ol’ Francis makes a classic blunder: he admits he can’t do the one thing he is being kept alive for. Colossus soon intervenes and gives Wade a speech on what it takes to be a hero, including “sparing your enemies.” It’s to no avail however, as Deadpool shoots Francis abruptly while he’s talking. Unceremonious? Sure. Fitting? Absolutely.

Okay, so entire is a bit of a stretch – but there’s a lot of death, trust us! In this story, a version of Wade Wilson is driven insane (well, more insane than usual) by the villain Psycho-Man. Given a new murderous voice in his head, this Deadpool sets out to kill all the major superheroes in his universe. The Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Avengers – none of them are able to escape “Dreadpool.” Things get even more deadly when the evil merc even tries to kill the people drawing his comic! Yep, the entire killing spree is as impressive as it is disturbing!
