Top 10 Celebrity Weddings of 2022 So Far
VOICE OVER: Phoebe de Jeu WRITTEN BY: Tal Fox
These celebrity wedddings have brought some much-needed joy to 2022. For this list, we'll be looking at our favorite famous couples who tied the knot this year. Our countdown includes Anya Taylor-Joy & Malcolm McRae, Kirsten Dunst & Jesse Plemons, Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck, and more!

#10: Bonnie Wright & Andrew Lococo

Did someone cast a time traveling spell? It feels like not long ago, we were watching little Ginny Weasley, aka Bonnie Wright, see her brothers off to Hogwarts. And, yet, that kid we watched grow up on our screens made things official with her now hubby, Andrew Lococo, an American businessman. In March of this year, they had a sweet, intimate wedding and although she hasn’t shared much, we did get a glimpse of the rings and venue, the happy couple, and their guests on their special day. Wright captioned the video of the rings with, “Yesterday was the best day of my life thanks to my husband!!” We’re sure it was magical.

#9: James McAvoy & Lisa Liberati

In February of 2022, the “X-Men” star revealed that he’d married his girlfriend, Lisa Liberati. However, he declined to provide additional information to avoid their big day becoming “tabloid fodder.” So, what we do know is that the newlyweds met on the set of the 2016 thriller “Split,” where Liberati worked as M. Night Shyamalan’s personal assistant. It was only a few years later that dating rumors started swirling. This is the Scottish actor’s second marriage, having previously wed British actress Anne-Marie Duff, who he has a son with. McAvoy is famously private, but he has shared the occasional snap of himself and his now wife on social media.

#8: Ewan McGregor & Mary Elizabeth Winstead

The actors met while playing love interests in the TV series “Fargo.” And in a case of reality imitating fiction, their romantic arc stretched over into their real lives. Like their television counterparts, this relationship wasn’t without drama. The pair were often spotted cozying together and loved up before making it official. In June of 2021, the couple announced the birth of their son, Laurie, and, just under a year later, they reportedly tied the knot in a small, intimate outdoor wedding for “family and close friends.” A source told publications that it was “ lovely and joyful” with a farm-to-table menu. May the force be with this marriage.

#7: Anya Taylor-Joy & Malcolm McRae

In 2021, the actress and musician sparked dating rumors when they were spotted publicly engaging in PDA. While Anya Taylor-Joy didn’t respond to speculation, the couple continued to enjoy romantic days out together. It wasn’t until March 2022 that the actress publicly acknowledged the relationship, mentioning McRae in an interview and making their red-carpet debut together. Just a few months later, in June, the rumor mill kicked off again with talk of an engagement. It was revealed shortly after that the couple secretly got hitched in a small courthouse wedding in July. It was an ideal mate; this queen found her king.

#6: Sophia Bush & Grant Hughes

The couple met about a decade earlier during a New Year’s trip to Nicaragua. They became fast friends, but during the early pandemic lockdowns, they grew closer and eventually started dating. In August 2021, Hughes popped the question during a vacation to Lake Como in Italy. In June of this year, the pair said “I Do” at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Hughes’s hometown, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bush asked designer Monique Lhuillier to create a unique, personalized gown that symbolized the unity of the two families coming together. She certainly nailed the brief, and it’s stunning. The wedding was a celebration of the couple, their heritages, and the history of Oklahoma; it looked beautiful.

#5: Kirsten Dunst & Jesse Plemons

After six years together and two children, the couple traveled to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, to exchange their vows. The couple met on the set of "Fargo" and co-starred in "The Power of the Dog." They've reportedly been engaged since 2017, but their busy lives prevented them from walking down the aisle. As Dunst told the LA Times, "It's ridiculous. We just haven't planned a wedding." Luckily, the nuptials did end up happening and at the GoldenEye luxury resort, a favorite getaway among creative types, such as Ian Fleming and Sting. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

#4: Brooklyn Beckham & Nicola Peltz

The Beckham’s eldest son and actress Nicola Peltz tied the knot in a multi-day star-studded wedding which took place in Palm Beach, Florida. According to the newlyweds, their big day was inspired by Iman and David Bowie’s nuptials, so to call it lavish would be an understatement. The pair exchanged vows in front of roughly 500 guests, incorporating Jewish traditions into their ceremony in honor of Peltz’s heritage. No expense was spared from the Valentino, Dior, and Versace outfits, cocktail reception, and entertainment. However, a midnight visit from a Wendy’s food truck proved to be the cherry on top of the wedding cake. Apparently, there are all kinds of perks when your dad is the owner of a fast food chain!

#3: Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker

In March of 2022, Kourtney and Travis, aka Kravis, got hitched in a Vegas “practice wedding.” They followed up with an official ceremony on May 15 and then a third more extravagant affair in Portofino, Italy, about a week later. The couple said their “I Dos” in front of their nearest and dearest, wearing Dolce & Gabbana. Apparently, Andrea Bocelli was invited to perform for the duo and their guests. Why three weddings, you ask? Well, you know what they say, third time’s the charm. And, looking at the photos and Kourtney’s radiant beam, these nuptials were certainly charming and enchanting. The best part is you can see just how happy they are.

#2: Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck

Hey, 2002 called; it wants its breaking celeb news back! Since Bennifer first got engaged, life took them on separate journeys, only to bring them back together about 20 years later. However, they surprised us all in July by announcing that they’d finally become Mr & Mrs. Affleck. The couple reportedly got married in an “intimate ceremony in Las Vegas,” in what JLo called the “Best night of our lives.” The singer and actress had two dresses for the occasion, including an old McQueen gown she’d been saving for a special day and a lace number by Zuhair Murad. Apparently, they’re still planning on a more extravagant celebration, so stay tuned.

Britney and her now-husband, Sam Asghari, tied the knot in a fairytale wedding in the backyard of her California home. The party also looked epic, with the happy couple dancing the night away alongside their famous friends. Um, so, where was our invite? Must’ve gotten lost in the mail.
