There are just some convicted criminals who should be in jail for the rest of their lives. Whether it's Robert Kennedy's assassin Sirhan Sirhan, John Lennon's assassin Mark David Chapman, or a serial killer like The Pig Farmer Killer Robert Pickton, these are a few prisoners who should rot in jail. Since O. J. Simpson is having a parole hearing on July 20th, 2017, WatchMojo counts down ten criminals who should never be released from jail.

#10: O. J. Simpson
Top 10 Inspiring Political Prisoners
This once-respected NFL running back was infamously acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman in 1995. He spent the next 13 years as a free man, searching for the “real killer” – until he was convicted in 2008 on numerous charges related to the theft of sports memorabilia. The Juice admitted to taking the items – which, he said, had previously been stolen from him – but he denied breaking into the hotel room or carrying a gun. Although the judge denied it, some saw O.J.’s 33-year prison sentence as payback for his acquittal in the Brown-Goldman murders. Either way, Simpson became eligible for parole in 2017, with his hearing set for July 20th.
#9: Russell Williams
The military represents integrity and bravery, but this former Canadian Forces Colonel tarnished that image. Once the commander of Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Williams was relieved of that job in 2010 when he was charged with two counts of first-degree murder – among other crimes. During the subsequent investigation, it was revealed that Williams was also responsible for 82 fetish-related break-ins between 2007-09, where he would steal and wear women’s – and sometimes young girls’ – underwear, and please himself on their beds. His crimes escalated and ultimately led to rape and murder, with Williams eventually earning two life sentences with no possibility of parole for 25 years – among the many charges. He’ll be eligible for parole in 2035, at age 72.
#8: Gregory Allen
If you devoured Netflix’s stunning documentary series “Making a Murderer,” you’ll recognize the name Gregory Allen. He was the rapist who sexually assaulted Penny Beerntsen in 1985, but it was Steven Avery who was convicted of the crime and served 18 years in prison before DNA evidence exonerated him. Ten years after the Beernsten attack, Allen brutally sexually assaulted and kidnapped a Green Bay woman; a crime that ended up putting him behind bars for 60 years. After serving 19 years of his sentence, Allen was finally eligible for parole in October 2016, but the registered sex offender was to remain in jail until his next eligibility date, exactly five years later.
#7: Robert Pickton

A man with charming nicknames like The Pig Farmer Killer, The Pigheaded Killer and Pork Chop Rob, British Columbia native Robert Pickton was sentenced to life in prison for six second-degree murders, although he claims to have killed 49 women. Details are fuzzy on what exactly occurred, but during a $70 million investigation by the BC government, the remains of multiple women were found across his pig farm. Evidence suggested that Pickton had ground his victims and mixed their flesh with pork he sold to consumers or fed them to pigs. Pickton is eligible for full parole in 2027. Granted, he’ll be 77, but it’s still a scary thought!
#6: Luka Magnotta
Lin Jun was a Chinese student who went missing in the Montreal area in May 2012. On May 25, the video “1 Lunatic 1 Icepick” was uploaded to Bestgore.com, depicting one man dismembering and defiling another. A few days later, a severed foot was delivered to Conservative Party headquarters in Ottawa, while a hand was sent to the Liberals – although that package was intercepted. Two schools on either side of Canada received the other hand and foot, and a torso was located in Montreal – all of which were eventually identified as Lin. Following, international manhunt, Magnotta was arrested in Germany, and sentenced to life with the possibility of parole after 25 years, in 2039.
#5: Mark David Chapman
Mark David Chapman is the man who murdered John Lennon, shooting him four times outside of his Manhattan apartment on December 8th, 1980. A man whose love of the Beatles eventually turned sour due to what he perceived as Lennon’s hypocrisy, Chapman had been planning the assassination for three months. After his defense team tried pleading insanity, Chapman instead pled guilty because he said God had told him to, so he was sentenced to 20 years to life – meaning he was first eligible for parole in 2000. Though he’s made positive strides while incarcerated, Chapman was denied his ninth chance at parole in August 2016 – due, in part, to protests from Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono.
#4: Sirhan Sirhan
You think being denied parole nine times is bad? Meet Sirhan Sirhan, who’s been rejected 15 times. In 1969, Sirhan was sentenced to the gas chamber for the assassination of Robert Kennedy – a sentence that was commuted in 1972 when California temporarily abolished the death penalty. During his trial, Sirhan said he’d murdered RFK “with 20 years of malice aforethought,” and a notebook was found in his apartment suggesting his motive was Kennedy’s support of Israel in the Middle East conflict. After claiming he was drunk at the time of the murder and berating the parole board for not taking that into account, Sirhan now says he has no memory of the incident and was hypnotized into assassinating Kennedy.
#3: David Berkowitz [aka Son of Sam]
New York in the mid-‘70s was gripped with fear, as crime, sex, and the Son of Sam killer ran rampant in the streets. From 1976-77, Berkowitz murdered six people and wounded several others with his signature .44 caliber Bulldog revolver, taunting police with letters as they undertook a world-famous manhunt to find him. His spree eventually ended in August 1977, and he was sentenced to six consecutive life sentences. In the years since, Berkowitz has been described as a model prisoner, has converted to born-again Christianity and has consistently refused to ask for parole; even saying “I believe that I deserve to be in prison for the rest of my life.” At least we can agree on something.
#2: Paul Bernardo
Arguably Canada’s most infamous criminal, Paul Bernardo is both a serial rapist and a killer, who, with his then-wife Karla Homolka, kidnapped, raped, tortured and killed at least three women, including Karla’s younger sister. After Homolka testified against him in exchange for a shortened sentence, Bernardo was handed a term of life in prison without parole for at least 25 years – the maximum determinate sentence in Canada. Although he’ll likely never be released due to his “dangerous offender” status, he may apply for parole in February 2018. Let’s hope that he, unlike Homolka, never walks the streets again.

Believe it or not, Charles Manson is A) not dead, and B) eligible for parole. But, it’s unlikely he’ll ever get it. Manson is the leader of the infamous Manson Family, a cult that committed many crimes, most notably the vicious Tate-LaBianca murders. Though Manson received the death penalty in 1971, his sentence was commuted the following year when California briefly abolished capital punishment. As a result, the man with the Swastika carved on his forehead has applied for parole since 1978 – though he was denied for the twelfth time in 2012. Hey, could be worse: family member Leslie Van Houten’s been denied 20 times. As for Manson, his next parole hearing is scheduled for 2027, when he’ll be 92.
