#10: Swallowed “Anaconda” (1997)

Who in their right mind believes they can outsmart both J. Lo AND Ice Cube? Apparently, Jon Voight. A documentary crew explores the Amazon but bites off more than they can chew by helping Voight’s crazy-eyed snake hunter. After ruining everybody’s rainforest trip, the hunter comes face-to-face with a hungry anaconda who smells an afternoon lunch. First he goes for the neck shot, and a few moments later he literally squeezes the shit out of his enemy while taunting him with a snarky smile. Then, taking his time like a true master of suspense, the snake creeps in and munches away with satisfaction.

#9: Snake Dance of Death “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” (2002)

Neville’s gleeful destruction of the villainous snake Nagini in the final Harry Potter film is incredible, but even that pales in comparison to the Basilisk scene in the second film. The Basilisk is an incredibly powerful and dangerous mystical creature with poisonous fangs and the power to turn victims to stone with a single glance. After the disappearance of Ginny Weasley, Harry confronts the reptilian monster. Things go badly until the well-timed assistance of Fawkes the Phoenix. With the Basilisk blinded, Harry unveils his sword for a battle to the end. A fierce struggle follows, but the young wizard delivers a piercing blow that leads to a snake dance of death.

#6: Mile High Creeper “Snakes on a Plane” (2006)

In perhaps the ultimate snake movie, a load of snakes break out of their cage and cause terror on an airplane. Among their first victims are a couple of young horn balls who hope to join the mile high club. Unfortunately, their application is denied when a snake bursts in and ruins the party. Of course, this wasn’t an isolated incident, as there were mother effin snakes all over the mother effin plane.
