Atlas and P-Body traverse through the Aperture Labs as test subjects designed by the AI GLaDOS to complete the Cooperative Testing Initiative. Despite their silliness and GLaDOS’ attempts to drive them apart, these little companions stay true to each other and complete the test.

In name and in practice, Yes Man is a loyal bot, programmed to serve Benny in Fallout: New Vegas. Voiced by Dave Folley, he’s incapable of turning down an order or withhold any information he is asked about, interactions with this mechanical slave are always entertaining. Although he is capable of having various emotions, he’s always smiling. He eventually finds pieces of code that will allow him to change his personality, making him more assertive.

Resembling an old English knight in his design, Fulgore fights with metallic blades composed of energy. Developed by Ultratech, he’s a prototype cybernetic soldier entered in the original Killer Instinct tournament to test his capabilities. Although a bit slower than other fighersfancy tricks like eye lasers and energy shields even the playing field. Don’t mess with this evil machine – he’ll tear you apart.

Best pet ever? We think so! Dog is Alyx Vance’s enormous pet robot, created by her father to protect her. If the name wasn’t already a dead giveaway, this bot has many canine qualities, as evidenced by his eagerness to play fetch. But don’t let his playful demeanour fool you: he will kick some serious butt when confronted by dangerous Combine Striders. Friendly and loyal, Dog is the perfect companion to help you get through City 17.

A somewhat annoying yet charming little robot, Claptrap serves as a guide in the Borderlands series. After getting off the bus in the original game, he’s the first character you encounter, as he introduces you to different characters and locations. He’ll provide you with some hilarious lines as you try and repair him on multiple occasions. His wit and humour have made him a sensation, becoming so popular he even has a web series based on his mischief.

This biblically named robot is a mobile platform with a consciousness made up of 1,183 geth, which are networked artificial intelligences. This enables him to operate independently and interact with organic beings across the galaxy. Possessing several panels on his head that simulate facial expressions, Legion join’s Shepard’s team to stop a group of heretic Geth, and help save the galaxy from the Reapers.

Robo is a friendly and helpful robot found disassembled in the year 2300 AD, who helps your party after Lucca repairs him. Going against the wishes of his corrupted maker, Robo has sympathy for humans, using his robotic arms to fire lasers and drop bombs to smoke his enemies. Robo lives to assist humans despite a brutal attack from his robotic brothers, who see this compassion as a defect that must be purged.

The Star Wars universe boasts many memorable bots, but none are as hilariously evil as HK-47. Built by Darth Revan as an assassin droid and Jedi Hunter, HK-47 has traveled the galaxy offing countless targets under the orders of his master. This misanthropic, sociopathic killing machine has a definite sense of pride, referring to all organic being as “meatbags”. Statement: with a unique way of speaking and a thirst for mayhem, HK-47 has blasted his way into the hearts of many gamers.
