Interview with Alt-J

Formed in 2007, Alt-J is an indie rock band out of England that’s known for going against the grain and creating unusual music that cannot be categorized. In 2012, the won the coveted British Mercury Prize, meaning their experiment paid off. In this video, sits down with guitarist and bassist Gwil from the band to discuss how the members of Alt-J first met at university and began playing together – as students often do. We also find out about the distinct and diverse musical and educational backgrounds the guys come from, and why Gwil thinks it’s a good thing they never studied music in school.
