Written and composed by Ruggero Leoncavallo, 'Pagliacci' is an opera that recounts the story of a jealous husband driven to kill by passion. This is Leoncavallo's only widely staged opera, and is often paired with Pietro Mascagni's 'Cavalleria rusticana' as a double bill.
