Orphaned at an early age, Clinton Barton was raised in a children's home before running away to join a traveling carnival. There he made a living as an expert archer and acrobat, before witnessing the heroics of Iron Man who saved countless lives from a deadly ride malfunction. Helpless to do anything, he became filled with insane jealousy. Craving the same appreciation he created a superhero persona, but was unfortunately mistaken as a villain by the police.
