#20: “Take Your Daughter to Work Day”

These Robot Chicken Sketches Will ALWAYS Be Funny...

“Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II”

“Robot Chicken” loves “Star Wars,” and some of the most memorable sketches involve Gary the Stormtrooper. In this one, Gary is told by his wife to bring his daughter to work, since he promised he would. Cue Gary bringing his child to several memorable locales in the original film, including Tatooine and the attack on the Tantive IV. As hilarious as Gary endangering his daughter is, he’s a genuinely impressive Stormtrooper! Not only does he actually hit what he’s shooting at, but Gary also dodges every shot at him, and earns Darth Vader’s respect! He could stand to read some more parenting books though.

#19: “Law & Order: KFC”

“Tapping a Hero”

Have you ever wanted to see 30 years’ worth of “Law & Order” episodes summarized in less than 2 minutes? Well, “Robot Chicken” has got a sketch for you! In “Law & Order: KFC,” all the hallmarks of the long running police procedural franchise are laid out one after another. Victim is discovered, detectives find evidence, confront the suspect, get a warrant, interrogate the suspect, go to trial, and the suspect goes free - only to be shot by a third party on the courthouse steps. The dialogue may be unintelligible to everyone who’s not poultry, but if you’ve seen any episode of “Law & Order,” you know exactly what they’re saying!

#18: “Gone But Not Forgotten”

Top 20 Darkest Robot Chicken Sketches Ever

“Executed by the State”

“Robot Chicken” loves taking seemingly ordinary things and putting their own spin on them. Such is the case with this sketch, where a pair of executives argue over their business strategy going forward. They’re torn between making coffee and mermaid pornography. However, when the siren modeling a lewd pose in the background is struck by a light and dies, the two of them decide to do coffee - but, they also choose to reuse the photo of the late mermaid for their logo. And that’s how the Starbucks logo came to be…at least for “Robot Chicken.” It would make a lot of sense though…

#17: “Our Newest Member, Calvin”

Also in:

Top 10 Times Robot Chicken Said What We Were All Thinking

“P.S. Yes, in That Way”

“G.I. Joe” is an old staple of “Robot Chicken” mockery, but arguably the best example is this sketch. The Joes are introduced to their new recruit - Calvin. Calvin is eager to get a cool new nickname, suggesting a few of his own, based on his expertise as a sniper or his doctorate. However, as soon as he makes a few clumsy mistakes, Calvin earns the moniker “Fumbles.” Quitting the Joes, he goes to work for Cobra. The newly minted Trouser Snake proceeds to take out all but one of the Joes by himself! It’s a surprisingly compelling character arc in just a few minutes!

#16: “Grand Theft Mario”

Also in:

Drag Race Recap: Season 12 Grand Finale and Winner Revealed | MsMojo's Drag Race RuCap

“Lust for Puppets”

Crossovers are always fun, and “Robot Chicken” delivers its fair share. In this sketch, Mario and Luigi take a wrong turn and end up in Vice City from “Grand Theft Auto.” The duo finds that the video game logic they’re used to doesn’t apply in this semi-realistic city. Hitting bricks with their heads only hurts and doesn’t deliver coins. Stomping on turtles only gets them attention from the police. And mushrooms have significantly trippier effects! After being cornered by the police, the Mario brothers go down in a blaze of gunfire! Still, we’d argue that they meet a slightly kinder fate than Yoshi does in nearby Raccoon City…

#15: “Bob Barker’s New Gig”

Also in:

Top 10 Times Robot Chicken Roasted Kids Shows

“S**** Bury Shortcake”

The longtime host of “The Price Is Right,” Bob Barker may have retired from the job, but this “Robot Chicken” sketch imagines a hilarious new endeavor for the former game show host. After spending years ending his shows encouraging viewers to spay or neuter their pets, Barker is reimagined as a blade-wielding vigilante that takes neutering pets into his own hands! Barker’s crusade to control the pet population culminates in a showdown with Snoop Dogg, who’s apparently a real dog, and playing himself, by the way! The action is shockingly good, the gags are hilarious, and it’s a fabulous prize of a sketch that we never get tired of!

#14: “That’s Bane!”

Also in:

10 Most Shocking Scenes from Robot Chicken

“Robot Chicken DC Comics Special”

Superheroes are another favorite for “Robot Chicken” sketches and this running gag from the “DC Comics Special” is one of the funniest. Batman has his back broken by Bane repeatedly throughout the episode, with a short musical sting exclaiming, “That’s Bane!” after each one. The gag works so well since the whole episode features DC heroes, causing each new break to break us all over again! Plus, Batman’s vivid descriptions of the state of his spine are hysterical! And just when we think the gag is over, we still manage to be surprised! When Gotham is in ashes, then we have permission to die…of laughter!

#13: “Sailor Moon Confronted”

“Joint Point”

Anime can get awkwardly erotic at times, and as you can see here, even some kid-focused shows fall into this category. Case in point, this sketch highlights just how much unwarranted attention the sailor scouts from Sailor Moon could attract with their “transformations sequences”. Whether in the heat of the moment or in battle, SailorMoon’s adversary becomes blatantly aroused, making him both unfit for combat and incredibly shameful.

#12: “Keebler Attacked”

“Major League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”

The Keebler Elves make fine cookies, but this sketch sees Ernest J. Keebler and his tree of confections deal with an unexpected threat. Arming themselves with medieval weaponry, they defend themselves against - Cookie Monster! The cookie-hungry muppet assaults their tree in search of his favorite food. While the elves get a few good hits in, they eventually decide the best way to deal with Cookie Monster is to give him what he wants! And it’s sweets that kill this savage beast! Tragically, his mother takes the elves to court, only to meet her own violent end. The sketch sandwiches two cookie-related bits of pop culture, much like Keebler’s delicious sandwich cookies, to create a delicious combination.

#11: “Supervillains in Traffic”

“Toyz in the Hood”

What if Skeletor, Lex Luthor, Cobra Commander, and Mumm-ra had to carpool? This absurd premise sees the villains stuck in traffic like ordinary people. They have to contend with not only unruly motorists, but also kids in nearby cars, the heroes failing to obey the rules of the road, and each other! Skeletor’s adherence to road etiquette and his “deadly gas attack” are definite highlights. It’s a great sketch and we could easily see a whole show built around this idea! “Villains in Cars Getting Coffee” - greenlight it Adult Swim!

#10: “Thursday the 12th”

“They Took My Thumbs”

“Friday the 13th” is great fodder for “Robot Chicken” sketches. While the mashup with “Scooby-Doo” is also fantastic, our pick goes to this sketch. In it, Jason of “Friday the 13th,” is shown in his homelife the day before “the big day.” His sweet and earnest anticipation is immediately contrasted with his violent murder-spree, before returning to domestic bliss the next day. Seeing the unstoppable killer in mundane situations is quite the trip, and the whiplash of the contrast between Friday and the rest of his life makes for comedy that’s to die for!

#9: “Cut Down in His Optimus Prime”

Also in:

Top 10 Times Robot Chicken Went TOO FAR

“Junk in the Trunk”

A memorable part of “Robot Chicken”’s pilot episode, this sketch sees Optimus Prime discover that he has an unfortunate problem. But his frequent urination during missions is the herald of something darker - prostate cancer! We see Prime get diagnosed, and his loved ones visit him in the hospital, before he transforms, literally, into a coffin. Thankfully, it’s all a dramatization, as Optimus explains. Transformers don’t even have the necessary organs, after all. From the weird mashup of Transformers and medical issues, to the hilarious transition into a cancer PSA, this sketch still has us rolling out with laughter!

#8: “Beavis and Butt-Head Join the Teen Titans”

Also in:

Top 10 Beavis and Butt-Head Moments

“Vegetable Fun Fest”

When the Teen Titans experience a foe they can’t overcome, Robin decides to add two more teens to the team - Beavis and Butt-head! Naturally, this goes about as well as you’d expect. The two idiots are less concerned with saving the world, and more interested in singing the Batman theme song and making immature remarks about their teammates. Their antics may endanger the Titans, particularly when they forget their one job in favor of eating nachos, but we still love seeing them join this team. They’d fit in better with the versions from “Teen Titans Go!” though.

#7: “Captain Planet”

Also in:

Top 10 William Shatner’s Captain Kirk Fight Moves

“1987”

Superheroes don’t always show up wearing capes and spandex; some are media tycoons that head your favorite cable news networks. Aside from being one of the most recognizable names in the business of television, Ted Turner is an active philanthropist, and this sketch takes that idea and expands on it, showing him taking on the role of Captain Planet and delivering some swift justice. While covered in blue paint and green hair dye, Turner terrorizes the city streets, searching for eco-criminals and threatening the non-eco-friendly with violence and death. Well, at least his cause is noble.

#6: “Delicious Gummy Bears”

“Tapping a Hero”

Life as a gummy bear must be delightful... well, at least most of the time. Frolicking gleefully through a serene meadow is a happy pink gummy bear that stumbles foot first into less-than-friendly bear trap. Nearly instantaneously the once joyful gummy bear enters a world of anger and pain, and screams at the top of its lungs. Shortly after coming to grips with its fate, the gummy bear resigns itself to eating its way out of the trap, only to meet one more conveniently placed bear trap. Poor bear.

#5: “The Rescue”

Also in:

Top 10 Robot Chicken Horror Movie Parodies

“Fight Club Paradise”

Have you enjoyed meeting all the characters the show created over its first five seasons? Would you like to see them all skewered in a violent and bloody showdown? You do!? Well, then you’re gonna love the 100th episode. This sketch begins with the Robot Chicken returning home to find his wife kidnapped by the mad scientist. In pursuit of the woman he loves, the Robot Chicken enters a tower and fights through a horde of the show’s signature characters. Upon reaching the top of the tower, our cyborg friend defeats his arch nemesis and rescues his wife, thus starting a whole new chapter for the show’s opening sequence.

#4: “The Emperor’s Phone Call”

Also in:

Top 20 Times Robot Chicken Made Fun of Star Wars

“1987” & “Robot Chicken: Star Wars”

Sure, blowing up the Death Star crippled the Empire terribly, but it also forced one very awkward phone call between Darth Vader and the Emperor. The wacky writers behind “Robot Chicken” put their minds to work to imagine just how such a conversation would go, and let us tell you it’s a lot more casual than you might expect. While first infuriated, the Emperor brings satire to the ordeal by mocking the Supreme Commander for his incompetence. But he’s compelled to stop his brutal rant when Vader begins to cry over his failure. The wussy-ness is strong with this one.

#3: “Apocalypse Pony”

“Cracked China”

Kid won’t stop misbehaving? Consider buying them their very own Apocalypse Pony! This cheerfully lethal toy promises to deliver the end of days to all the bad little boys and girls of the world. This comical parody commercial introduces us to four different Apocalypse Ponies: Pestilence Pony, Famine Pony, War Pony and Death Pony. After War Pony gets the parents’ attention with a couch fire, they’re soon introduced to the final pony. The end of the world has never looked so cute and cuddly.

#2: “Five Stages of Grief”

Also in:

Top 10 Times Robot Chicken Made Fun of Video Games

“Sausage Fest”

Sometimes simplicity can lead to the best comedy. This sketch sees a giraffe stuck in quicksand. The long-necked animal proceeds to go through the five stages of grief as he contends with his apparently impending death, with title cards announcing each one in turn. The giraffe’s over-the-top reactions perfectly illustrate every stage, while also being hilarious! In the end though, his long neck comes in handy though, as he reaches the bottom and still survives. Unfortunately for the giraffe though, he’s still stuck - as stuck as this classic sketch is in the minds of “Robot Chicken” fans everywhere.

#1: “You Got Robo-Served”

Also in:

Top 10 Times Robot Chicken Made Fun of Marvel

“Nutcracker Sweet”

Needing to save the universe from a malicious threat, Earth enlists the power of Voltron and its intergalactic dance moves. But once their alien opponent breaks out its boombox, the Voltron team knows it’s serve or get served. One after the other, the two opponents showcase their best moves – that is, until Voltron breaks out its last one. Out of desperation, and total embarrassment, Voltron just straight up kills the alien. So, while they still felt the sting and shame of their epic serving, fortunately, they’re able to laugh it off.
