10 Disney Stars Who Got in Trouble with the Law

This Disney Channel alumni got busted back in 2016 when she tried to use a fake ID at Coachella. The then 20-year old Berglund was trying to meet up with friends in a restricted area when security spotted her bogus ID. They called the cops on the former “Lab Rats” star, and she soon found herself being fingerprinted and having her mug shot taken. She was only given a citation for her little lapse in judgment, but by the looks of it, she wasn’t too happy about having to endure such an embarrassing ordeal.

From Disney Channel darling to soap opera star, Kirsten Storms has enjoyed a lengthy career in the entertainment industry. However, that didn’t save her back in 2007 when she was pulled over for flicking a lit cigarette out of her car window. While the police initially only had her for littering, they decided to issue a sobriety test and found that Storms was over the legal limit. The former “Kim Possible” star didn’t get off easy, as she was later sentenced to 36 months probation, ordered to complete a 90-day alcohol program, and pay a fine of $1,643.

Best known for playing Max Russo on Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” Jake T. Austin has found himself in hot water on more than one occasion since the show ended. In 2013, he was arrested for driving under the influence and then, just one month later was involved in a 4-car hit and run… with the same freakin’ car! Incredibly, it seems like small potatoes when compared to what his former “Waverly Place” co-star David Henrie got busted for in 2018. Henrie was picked up for carrying a loaded weapon inside of an airport, which is a BIG no-no. Henrie was arrested despite claims that the whole thing was “unintentional.”

Mitchel Musso appeared in his first Disney production in 2005 and went on to star in a number of kid-friendly programs for the channel. From “Hannah Montana” to “PrankStars” Musso could seemingly do it all. However, the fun came to an end in 2011 when he was arrested for driving under the influence. He spent the night in jail, but was allowed to leave the following morning due to a lack of priors. The arrest wound up costing Musso most of his gigs with Disney, with the company dropping him almost immediately. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that Musso was underage at the time of his arrest. Not a good look.

Long before he was managing the Tipton Hotel on “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” Phill Lewis was serving time for vehicular manslaughter. Lewis has been acting since the mid-80s and has popped up in everything from “Heathers” to “How I Met Your Mother.” However, in 1991 he was sentenced to five years in prison after he struck and killed a woman while driving under the influence. When he was arrested, his blood alcohol level was triple the legal limit! While he only spent one year behind bars, it’s still quite surprising that Disney hired him to play a lead character on one of their flagship shows.

This former “Lizzie McGuire” star found herself in big trouble back in 2007 when she was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. Talk about a far cry from playing Hilary Duff’s best friend! She pled guilty and was ordered to attend drug rehabilitation. The arrest ended her relationship with Disney and derailed her career, with her biggest role since 2007 being a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in “Easy A.” It just goes to show that child stars that get arrested don’t always land on their feet.

Shia LaBeouf has had a roller coaster ride of a career that’s seen him go from the Disney Channel, to the top of the box office, to the back of a police cruiser. The former “Even Stevens” star has been arrested multiple times and for a wide variety of offences. There was the DUI back in 2008 and a disorderly conduct arrest in 2014, where he reportedly spat at the cops that were trying to arrest him. Then in 2017, he was picked up for drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and obstruction. The trio of offences wound up costing him $1,000 in fines and admittance to an anger management program.

Orlando Brown rose to prominence playing the titular character’s best friend Eddie on “That’s So Raven” from 2003 to 2007. When the show ended, Brown tried to get his rap career off the ground and while things initially appeared to be going well, his career has stalled as of late thanks to a slew of legal issues. Brown has been arrested multiple times since his stint with Disney ended and has been charged with everything from drug possession and domestic battery to resisting a police officer. His former “That’s So Raven” co-star Anneliese van der Pol has had her own troubles with the law, having been arrested in 2006 for driving under the influence.
