Top 10 Celebrities Who Had Alien Encounters

They wanted to believe. Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 10 Celebrities Who Had Alien Encounters.

For this list, we'll be ranking the most famous, well-known or established stories about celebrities who claimed extra-terrestrial contact. For the record, we're not casting judgment on the credibility (or lack thereof) for any of these encounters, but rather highlighting some interesting aspects about some wild stories.

#10: Mick Jagger

The world of British rock in the 1960s and '70s was a wild ‘n’ woolly place, filled to the brim with excessive behavior and even more excessive use of substances. Perhaps this might explain the sighting of a "cigar shaped" spaceship reported by Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger in the late sixties. Jagger was on a camping holiday with then-girlfriend, folk singer Marianne Faithfull, and was so affected by the experience that he reportedly had a security system installed in one of his homes: a device that measured electromagnetic activity around the property's perimeter. There were many who were skeptical of his account, but Jagger was clearly confident about what he’d seen!

#9: Yaphet Kotto

Ok, it may be a bit early in this list to be getting meta, but here we go. Yaphet Kotto is a veteran character actor who has appeared in everything from "Live and Let Die" to "Across 110th Street." Kotto also appeared as "Parker" in Ridley Scott's classic sci-fi/horror flick "Alien," only to claim actual extraterrestrial contact to VICE three decades later in 2017. Kotto revealed that he had multiple alien encounters, starting when he was just a little boy, and stressed to interviewer Noel Ransome that none of his stories were in any way an attempt to promote himself in any way, but rather a confession of sorts. Judging by Kotto's tone in the piece, we're inclined to believe him.

#8: Robbie Williams

Pop star Robbie Williams has been openly interested with alien life for years now, but that interest seems to have grown into a full blown obsession. The former Take That singer once wrote a song about alien abduction, titled "Arizona," only for that song to reportedly initiate contact with the unknown when Williams was listening to it on a hotel balcony. Then, it was reported in July of 2019 that Williams had installed 24 hour security at his home, out of fears that aliens might return to harass him. Robbie himself has suggested that his obsession could stem from “mental illness,” but he doesn’t seem convinced. Either way, here’s hoping that any extraterrestrials out there respect his wishes and leave him alone!

#7: Sammy Hagar

Former Van Halen and Montrose front man Sammy Hagar was promoting his book, "Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock" back in 2011 when he first told this story about alien contact. Now, this doesn't mean anything per se, but you have to admit that a little press coverage never hurts a book tour. During the interview,, Sammy quoted a section of the book that described contact Hagar had with aliens as a young boy and reaffirmed it as fact - at least in his mind. The singer vaguely described the ordeal through a confusing analogy that compared the experience to downloading a file or torrent on a computer. Wanna know more? Hey, maybe consider picking up a copy of Sammy's book!

#6: Fran Drescher

Alien contact is a family affair when it comes to Fran Drescher. Specifically, the "Nanny" actress claims that both her and her ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson shared similar experiences of contact when they were very young. She went on to tell the Huffington Post that she felt this contact was what eventually brought the pair together, in a sort of kismet, or fate. Drescher even claimed that both her and Jacobson have matching scars and chip implants from prior alien abductions, although Jacobson, for his part, didn't seem to be one hundred percent convinced.

#5: Shirley MacLaine

Shirley MacLaine is outspoken about her belief in alien contact, and has maintained that she's experienced relationships with extraterrestrials multiple times over the course of her life and career. Then again, MacLaine's opinions about reincarnation and past lives have gotten her in trouble over the years, specifically some lines of thought brought up in her book, "What If...?" pondering whether or not victims of genocide were suffering for the crimes of their past lives. Basically, MacLaine seems, in regard to aliens, fairly impervious to popular opinion or generally accepted world views, and so people tend to take her stories about alien life with more than a pinch of salt.

#4: Tom DeLonge

So… Tom DeLonge of Blink-182 is into aliens. Like, really into aliens. So much so that, in 2017, he formed the To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences, an organization with the basic aim to inform the public about anything and everything UFO. DeLonge's group was actually in the news as recently as September of 2019, after it was revealed that they leaked one of three recent videos that claim to present Armed Forces acknowledgment of an Unidentified Flying Aircraft. So is DeLonge a crazy conspiracy theorist or a watchdog, out to expose the truth to everyone, at any cost? The truth is out there, right?

#3: Dan Aykroyd

Ghosts? Man, that's old news. What "Ghostbusters" star Dan Aykroyd really wants to talk about is aliens. However, Aykroyd isn't one of those believers who thinks that contact will come from the stars down to earth, a la "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." Instead, the former Ray Stantz believes that aliens are likely already down here, living and walking amongst us every day. Aykroyd has been on the record for years about his reported contact with UFOs, but from the actor's tone, we can't help but feel like Dan's comments about alien desire to propagate and mate with earth women sounds just a little too close to some kind of bad sci-fi movie.

#2: John Lennon

We're taking another trip in the way back machine for our next entry, with a particular emphasis on the word "trip." The Beatles' John Lennon was a big proponent for the use of mind-expanding substances,, and we're thinking that this habit just might have had a little something to do with his story about alien contact. Lennon reportedly shared his tale with magician friend Uri Geller, describing how he and wife Yoko Ono were visited by "bug eyed" aliens in the middle of the night. Lennon maintained that he "wasn't tripping," and gave Geller a metallic, egg-shaped object for safe keeping, saying that it was a "ticket to another planet."

#1: Elvis Presley

The King of Rock 'n Roll detailed multiple experiences with alien life forms, dating all the way back to when he was just a lil' rockin' prince at age eight. Elvis claimed telepathic connections with extraterrestrials at this age, as well as reporting two more adult encounters with UFOs, alongside his associate Larry Geller. Presley never lost his interest in the subject of space, either, collecting books and keeping the stories of these encounters flowing freely amongst his fan base, so much so that Elvis followers swore that The King himself was abducted or perhaps even an alien himself. Maybe there’s truth to the enduring statement: “Elvis Lives” . . . just not on this planet!
