For this list, we’ll be looking at the cast of “A Cinderella Story” and seeing what they’ve been up to since the movie came out in 2004.

#10: Simon Helberg

Who would’ve thought that Terry would become one of the biggest sitcom stars of the 2010s? Most of Helberg’s time since the release of the teen rom-com has been spent on “The Big Bang Theory,” where he played Howard Wolowitz for twelve years and 279 episodes. It was undoubtedly the role of a lifetime, and much like the cast of “Friends,” Helberg will forever be linked to his respective role. According to IMDb, Helberg has two projects in the works as of early 2020 - a musical titled “Annette” and a drama called “As Sick as They Made Us,” with the latter being written and directed by his “Big Bang Theory” co-star Mayim Bialik.

#9: Lin Shaye

Playing Mrs. Wells was Lin Shaye, an actress with a career spanning over forty years. That said, she has since become more of a major player thanks to her work in the horror genre. Shaye has played Elise Rainier throughout the “Insidious” series, with“Insidious: The Last Key” released in 2018. Two years later, she was starring as Faith Matheson in “The Grudge” sidequel. Shaye is set to continue her horror work on television, as she is scheduled to star as Dottie Minter in the “Penny Dreadful” spin-off “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.”

#8: Mary Pat Gleason

Playing Eleanor was Mary Pat Gleason, who has been going strong since the early ‘80s. Most of her work remains rooted in television. In 2019, Gleason wrapped a recurring role as Mary on the CBS sitcom “Mom.” That same year also saw her voicing Professor Foxtrot in “WTF 101” and playing various roles in “The Blacklist” and “Life in Pieces.” However, not all of her work has been on TV. In 2018, Gleason starred as Counselor Stevens in the Netflix movie “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.”

#7: Dan Byrd

Long before his blow up, Dan Byrd played Carter Farrell. Since then, he has starred in movies like “The Hills Have Eyes” and “Easy A.” But much like his co-star Mary Pat Gleason, most of Byrd’s work remains rooted in television. Between 2009 and 2015, he played Travis Cobb on “Cougar Town,” a role that lasted throughout the show’s six seasons and 102 episodes. In 2019, he appeared in episodes of “The Good Doctor” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” and he is scheduled to star in an upcoming Prime Video drama called “Utopia” alongside “The Office’s” Rainn Wilson.

#6: Madeline Zima

Zima had been credited in numerous television shows before landing the role of Brianna in “A Cinderella Story,” and she continued her work in TV long after. In the late 2000s, she was consecutively starring in “Calfornication” and “Heroes,” and in 2017 she appeared as Tracey Barberato in the first two episodes of “Twin Peaks: The Return.” 2019 was a pretty big year for Zima. Not only did she appear in an episode of “You” titled Farewell, My Bunny, but she also appeared as Edie in the Academy Award-nominated film “Bombshell.”

#5: Regina King

King enjoyed a prosperous movie career long before “A Cinderella Story,” having appeared in the likes of “Boyz n the Hood,” “Jerry Maguire,” and “Daddy Day Care.” However, 2018 and 2019 proved her best years yet in terms of praise, as she earned both a Golden Globe and Academy Award for her work in “If Beale Street Could Talk.” But she has also been crushing it on TV. She earned three Emmy awards for her work in “American Crime” and “Seven Seconds,” and in 2019 she starred as Sister Night in HBO’s “Watchmen.” King has also directed a film titled “One Night in Miami,” which is currently in post-production.

#4: Julie Gonzalo

Gonzalo was quite the popular movie actress in the early 2000s, having starred in the likes of “A Cinderella Story,” “Freaky Friday,” “DodgeBall,” and “Christmas with the Kranks.” However, her focus has shifted to TV. Between 2012 and 2014, she starred as Pamela Rebecca Barnes in the TNT revival of “Dallas.” The show lasted three seasons and forty episodes. Since then, she has appeared in episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Lucifer.” 2019 was another big year for Gonzalo, as she landed the role of Andrea Rojas in “Supergirl.”

#3: Jennifer Coolidge

Coolidge will forever remain known as Stifler’s Mom. Despite this, she has enjoyed a very prosperous career that has spanned over two decades, which includes roles in “A Cinderella Story” and the “Legally Blonde” franchise. Coolidge is still going strong, as she voiced Mary Meh in 2017’s “The Emoji Movie” and appeared in 2020’s “Like a Boss” She has also done a lot of TV work. She voiced “Lazy” Susan Wentworth in “Gravity Falls” and starred as Sophie Kachinsky in all six seasons of “2 Broke Girls.” Coolidge also reprised her role as Paulette Bonafonté in Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” music video.

#2: Chad Michael Murray

You don’t need us to tell you that Chad Michael Murray was a bit of a teen heartthrob. Aside from playing Austin, Murray also starred in the likes of “Gilmore Girls,” “Dawson’s Creek,” and of course “One Tree Hill.” Despite losing his teen heartthrob status, Murray remains prevalent on our TV screens. Between 2013 and 2015, he starred as Jacob Orr in the Crackle action series IChosen.” He also starred in the shows “Agent Carter” and “Sun Records.” In 2019, he enjoyed an eight-episode run on “Riverdale” as Edgar Evernever, a cult leader who was going to literally fly away on a rocket. No, that was not a fever dream that we had. That actually happened.

#1: Hilary Duff

Duff was on top of the world in 2004, having just come off “Lizzie McGuire.” And while she has never quite recaptured her early 2000s glory, Duff has remained very busy throughout the years. In 2015, Duff began starring as Kelsey Peters on the TV Land comedy-drama “Younger.” The show has since aired six seasons and over seventy episodes. In 2019, she executive produced and starred in the thriller “The Haunting of Sharon Tate,” which was unfortunately lambasted by critics. Duff is also coming full circle with a “Lizzie McGuire” revival that is rumored to hit either Disney+ or Hulu in the near future. While two episodes have been filmed, the series has been put on hold due to creative differences.
