Time to start off this list with a little bit of party rock. The fourth single off of their second album, the track is nonstop electronic and dance-pop chaos. Redfoo, Sky Blu, dancing zebras, YouTubers Rhett and Link, and David Hasselhoff? Pure chaos. “Sorry For Party Rocking” is the perfect excuse for all millennials when its time to turn the music down. Unfortunately, “Sorry For Party Rocking” was the final single before LMFAO’s hiatus in 2012, so they may have rocked the party a little too hard.

Just when you think she was gone Tay Tay is back with another annoying hit. Taylor Swift’s lead single from her hugely popular album 1989, this track will have you dancing, lip syncing, or singing along even if you aren’t a fan. It’s that infectious. Unlike a majority of entries on this list, the track was praised for its style by critics and won multiple awards, but many were also offended by the track’s music video’s references to twerking. Many fans consider “Shake It Off” to be Taylor Swift’s official goodbye to her country roots, while others consider it to be an exciting new chapter in Taylor’s career.

Produced by DJ David Guetta, and featuring the classical auto-tune sounds of will.i.am, “I Gotta Feeling”, is a modern pop classic. The second single from the group’s fifth album, you couldn’t go anywhere without having the track buzzing around. While the song received endless radio airplay upon release, this only helped the song’s commercial success, eventually selling over fifteen million copies. The song was also nominated for two Grammys and won one for Best Group Pop Performance. No matter how much we hate it, we are not afraid to at least hum along.

The bird is most certainly the word. This surf rock number was originally released in 1963 by American surf rock group The Trashmen and peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Fun fact, “Bird of the Word” is actually a mash up of two songs, The Rivingtons “Bird is the Word” and “Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow”. Nonetheless, we can’t help but just keep singing. Whether it’s Peter Griffin’s rendition of the song, or The Ramones’ cover, there’s no way you won’t have this song stuck in your head after just one listen.

Face it, if you were growing up in the 2000s, you have heard of our next entry. “Who Let The Dogs Out” is a bouncy pop track that is as synonymous with the warm weather and fun vibes of summer. The sunshine, the catchy beat, and plenty of dogs, what is not to love? The track is notable as it is one of the best selling singles of the 2000s, yet it did not reach #1. How did that happen? Beats us. Also considered by many publications to be one of the most annoying songs of all time, we would agree, although we would be lying if we said it wasn’t catchy as hell.

Here comes Gwen Stefani bringing her “silly dance record” for our next entry. The third single from Stefani’s debut solo album, “Hollaback Girl” is a call back to 1980s dance music that music fans had been waiting for. Fans and critics were split, as the track became the first digital download to sell one million copies, despite most critics panning Stefani and the track. We can’t help but love it though, but if someone could let us know what a “Hollaback Girl” is that would be great.

Our next entry is brought to us by one of the best one hit wonders of the 80s. Toni Basil brings us this pop number about the super fine Mickey. If you were listening to pop music during the 1980s, there is no way you weren’t caught singing along about your own love interest. While originally thought to be about The Monkees lead vocalist Mickey Dolenz, this claim was later disputed by Basil as the two only met briefly. “Mickey” actually reached number one and number two in the US and UK respectively, but unfortunately is Basil’s only hit to date.

The debut single from British singer Rick Astley, “Never Going To Give You Up” quickly became a worldwide number one hit as well as becoming Astley’s signature track.
