Adele’s 2015 single “Hello” was a mega-hit, selling more than a million digital copies in its first week. But did you know that Ellen played a big part in the writing of the song? At least by her account! In this hilarious spoof, Ellen inserted herself into the video for “Hello”, putting herself at the other end of Adele’s phone call. While Ellen snacks away she forces Adele to repeat herself over and over again, which explains just why the singer says “hello” so many times in the song. Thank god we finally got to the bottom of this one!

At only three years old, this miniature gymnast puts our flexibility to shame. Emma appeared on “Ellen” with her mom in 2016, and wowed the audience and viewers at home with her incredible confidence and skills. The video is so amazing that it has been viewed more than 50 million times on YouTube! When Emma appeared on the show, Ellen introduced her saying she had more than 50,000 followers on Instagram. Since her appearance though, her following has jumped up to a total of nearly a quarter million!

#8: Kellie Pickler's Storytelling

“American Idol” star Kellie Pickler has been on Ellen’s show a few times at this point, but her 2010 appearance is one that we’re not going to forget anytime soon. The country music singer regaled Ellen with a story about getting pulled over by cops for running a stop sign and having to show them her taped together driver’s license. On another visit, she talked about how she fished her license out of the dryer when she forgot it in a pair of pants. No matter what she’s talking about, you can’t help but be charmed by her unbridled enthusiasm!

#7: Christmas Carolling With Britney Spears

All the way back in December of 2008, Ellen decided to take one of pop’s biggest stars out in L.A. to spread some holiday cheer. For this segment, Ellen and Britney spears headed out to knock on people’s doors singing Christmas carols. They first tried in their regular clothes, but then decided to upgrade to period costumes for a touch of extra authenticity. It may be tough to feel Christmassy in Southern California, but this definitely helps! Can we get a reprise of this tradition please?

#6: Uncovering a Secret Audience Member

Usually Ellen is the one pulling pranks on people, but this time the show’s crew decided to surprise her with a hilarious challenge. They hid a celebrity in her audience who had been transformed using hair and makeup and gave her 15 seconds to pick them out of the crowd. When she wasn’t able to do that, she was given an extra minute and still couldn’t figure it out- even if it was obvious to the at home audience! This is another fan favorite we’d love to see get revived!

#5: Hosting “The Voice” Auditions

If you’ve never seen an episode of “The Voice” before here’s how it works: the judges sit facing away from the contestants and if they like how they sound, they spin around for the reveal. In Ellen’s version, she decided to try to guess some descriptors for the celebrities who were participating on her show. She was surprised when Bellamy Young, Josh Gad, Meghan Trainor and finally John Legend revealed themselves, and it was obviously that all the stars were having a blast being in on the joke.

#4: When Taylor Swift and Zac Efron Wrote Her a Song

Ellen is used to having big celebrity guests on her show, but when you can get two mega-stars on stage together, you know it’s going to be good. In 2012, Ellen hosted Taylor Swift and Zac Efron, and apparently Swift had just been teaching Efron how to play guitar. They started up a performance of “Pumped Up Kicks” which quickly turned into an original tune that the two had written about their experiences appearing on the show. Efron may not be becoming a rock star anytime soon, but the result is totally charming.

In 2008 when the state of California overturned their ban on same sex marriage, many celebrities were open about their happiness with the decision. Ellen didn’t waste time getting right to the point in her opening monologue, announcing live on her show that she and Portia, who was in the crowd, would be getting married. She got a well-deserved standing ovation from her audience and we’re betting that there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Though there have been many funny moments on “Ellen”, this one is definitely on the list of most touching.

In September of 2016 when Barack Obama’s time in the Oval Office was coming to a close, the FLOTUS Michelle Obama visited with Ellen and the two went on a little field trip. In order to prepare her for becoming a regular citizen again, they went to CVS and Ellen’s hilarious antics managed to force Michelle into a parental role. Back in 2012 when Obama had been reelected for his second term, Michelle appeared on the show to do a little competition with Ellen- and totally trounced her. Top 10 Most Memorable Ellen DeGeneres Interviews

Ellen has a lot of great segments on her show, and in one of them she shares commercials for products that are let’s just say...a little odd. The “Shake Weight” has since become a cultural phenomenon, but back when this video first aired it was still new to the world- and to Ellen. She can’t hide her amusement at the absolutely ridiculous workout product “for women”. This is a family friendly show guys, but sometimes a little innuendo is unavoidable. The Shake Weight has since returned when actress Kaley Cuoco discussed purchasing one years later.
