For this list, we'll be ranking more instances of un-simulated sex, either solo or collaborative, within non-pornographic movies. "Immoral Women" (1979) Walerian Borowczyk was no stranger to controversy, as the Polish filmmaker had already shocked audiences with films such as 1975's "The Beast." His 1979 anthology "Immoral Women" continues in this vein, featuring an un-simulated sex scene between two of its lead actors, Marina Pierro and Gerard Falconetti. The pair engage in the act outdoors, and the scene is shot with all of the dreamy, evocative style present in most of Borowczyk's work. "Immoral Women" certainly isn't for everyone, but Pierro and Falconetti bring heat and joy to their scene, making it a memorable slice of real life sex in the art house.

"Pink Flamingos" (1972) Love him or hate him, John Waters is an American original; an icon of maverick and transgressive cinema who inspired legions of filmmakers in his wake. "Pink Flamingos" might be the best known of his films, primarily for its unrepentant amount of extreme on-screen activity. One such instance is a scene of un-simulated oral sex between its stars Divine and Danny Mills. The scene takes place when the pair break into a house and spread their "filthiness" by licking just about everything they find. This then turns into the pair licking each other, in what is just one of the many, many shocking scenes to be found in this one-of-a-kind film experience.

"Lie With Me" (2005) If you're a fan of either Lauren Lee Smith or Eric Balfour, then you're in luck, because "Lie With Me" features what is certainly the most explicit and erotic sequences ever filmed for either actor's career. "Lie With Me" was based upon a novel by Tamara Faith Berger, and the camera never shies away from any of the real life sex acts performed by both Smith and Balfour in the film. Raw, intense and frank, the pair have a definite chemistry with each other, with the end results spilling out onto the screen in all of its soft-focus glory.

"The Angel and the Woman" (1977) The Canadian actress and singer Carole Laure had already walked off the set of one sexually explicit film with 1974's "Sweet Movie," but this wasn't the last time Laure would find herself having sexual contact on screen. "The Angel and the Woman" was a collaboration between Laure and her future husband Lewis Furey, an art house fantasy film about a romance between a dying woman and an angel. Furey and Laure starred together as the titular angel and woman, and shared their physical relationship on screen for all to see. The film is difficult to track down on home video, but is recommended for those seeking out a different kind of "beautiful, dark twisted fantasy."

"The Image" (1975) Radley Metzger was one of the true auteurs of erotic cinema, a writer and director with a unique voice, and an endless amount of creative energy. "The Image" was Matzger's film adaptation of the novel by Catherine Robbe-Grillet, a stylish and sexy piece with a particular focus on dominance, sadism and submission. The film starred actress Rebecca Brooke under her birth name Mary Mendum, and was much more than your garden variety softcore romp. One particular scene showcases Brooke engage in un-simulated oral sex with her co-star Carl Parker, which is even more intriguing when one takes into account that she was said to be dating Metzger at the time.

"9 Songs" (2004) The 2004 British film "9 Songs" isn't exactly the average cinematic love story, as it isn't everyday when a big screen romance also features on screen fornication between the two leads. Kieran O'Brien and Margo Stiley did exactly that when it came to delivering their performances for the film, raising the eyebrows of nearly everyone in the process. The film, at its heart, is an examination of relationships and music, relying heavily upon its soundtrack of modern rock bands. Meanwhile, the sex scenes between O'Brien and Stiley come across as natural for their characters, while at the same time crossing the boundaries between realism, fantasy and pornography.

"Caligula" (1979) Sure, this infamous 1979 period piece may have starred such big name talent as Malcolm McDowell, Helen Mirren and Peter O'Toole, but don't expect any of these screen legends to be subject of our next entry. Instead, producer and "Penthouse Magazine" founder Bob Guccione decided to spice things up by casting an array of Penthouse Pets in the film and shooting clandestine hardcore sex scenes to be included in post-production. Guccione's sneaky tactics weren't the only controversies surrounding the film, either, as "Caligula" saw both the initial screenwriter Gore Vidal and co-director Tinto Brass butt heads endlessly over the film's sexual content, plot themes and tone.

"Intimacy" (2001) "Intimacy" was released just a few years before '9 Songs," but features a similarly physical love story, played out alongside a popular soundtrack, this time consisting of 1970s and '80s pop music. Although the film isn't as explicit as "9 Songs," the cast is larger and more well-known, including Marianne Faithfull, Kerry Fox and Mark Rylance. It's the latter pair's doomed love story that serves as the crux of "Intimacy," and their scenes together include an un-simulated instance of oral sex, performed by Fox on Rylance. It's this choice of realism that earned "Intimacy" an almost immediate response and reputation, and one of the reasons why the film is still discussed today.

"Taking Tiger Mountain" (1983) We know what you're probably thinking: "wait...that Bill Paxton?!?" Yup, ol' Private Hudson himself actually took part in a surreal, experimental art film early in his career, titled "Taking Tiger Mountain." The film began production in the 1974, but it wasn't released until the early eighties, when at that point it became a strange amalgamation of spy thriller, post-apocalypse flick and sex film. Bill is dubbed by a voice actor here, but he also receives real oral sex from one his co-stars early on in the film, one of the "hippie girls" Paxton and the crew had recruited while traveling across Europe. "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song" (1971) Melvin Van Peebles was a proud pioneer of black cinema, with "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song" being his most infamous project. Van Peebles scraped and scrounged what he could to get his film made, including doing all of his own stunts. These "stunts" also included performing real sex acts with some of his co-stars, a choice which reportedly afflicted Van Peebles with a case of gonorrhea. In what can only be described as the true definition of "sticking it to the man," Van Peebles was said to have put in a claim for workers' compensation, the payout for which helped finish the film.
