Welcome to "The CineFiles," a weekly show where we zoom in on the most buzz-worthy news Hollywood and the indie scene has to offer.

The name’s Hardy. Tom Hardy. The A-list actor made waves this week after discussing the possibility of taking over Daniel Craig’s 007 in an interview with The Daily Beast - or rather - made waves by not discussing it. When asked if he wanted to play the iconic spy, Hardy said “... if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race. So I can’t possibly comment on that one! If I mention it, it’s gone.” The Bane actor did however gush at the prospect of Christopher Nolan directing future Bond films, who has talked about it in the past. Having worked with him on such titles as The Dark Knight Rises and Inception, the chemistry and talent to create a fresh, new Bond reboot is there. While any official announcements seem far off, we can’t help but think of Tom Hardy saying, “shaken, not stirred.”
If you’re squeamish, you might want to cover your eyes for this entry. First-time director Julia Ducournau’s cannibal-horror flick, Raw has been shocking audiences since its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016, and judging by the new, bloody red band trailer, it’s easy to see why. The movie follows a young vegan veterinarian, who after a series of strange hazing rituals, begins to develop a taste for flesh. The trailer shows us a dialogue-free sequence of gruesome events – including blood, a creepy horse, animal embryos and unsettling erotic poses. With audience members at the Toronto International Film Festival actually fainting last September, it only makes sense that Raw has a trailer to match the film’s intensity. We just hope you haven’t passed out before we finished the entry…

Deadpool, Wolverine and... James Bond? Again? Yes! Bond is popping up everywhere these days it seems, only this time it’s the super spy of old, Pierce Brosnan grabbing the spotlight. Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds recently posted an Instagram picture of Hugh Jackman, Brosnan and himself striking the “hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil” pose, leading fans and media everywhere to speculate that Brosnan has been cast as Cable, the time traveling child of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor. However, Jackman also posted a photo of the three laughing hysterically right after. What does it all mean? Maybe it’s all just to draw attention to the new Logan trailer. Maybe it’s to bolster Deadpool’s Oscar chances. Or, maybe Brosnan’s eyeing a second go at that vacant Bond spot. It may be a subtle hint or major troll job, but one thing’s for sure: it has people talking.
