Interview With Joel Plaskett

Hailing from Nova Scotia, Canada, Joel Plaskett figures prominently in the lively Canadian indie music scene. In the 1990s, Plaskett was part of the alt rock band Thrush Hermit. After their breakup in 1999, he embarked on a solo career, with the help of his band The Emergency. He has since been nominated for and won numerous Canadian music awards for his efforts, including more than one nod for his songwriting. In 2009, he was chosen by Sir Paul McCartney as his opening act when the former-Beatle played a huge outdoor show in Halifax.
