VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
The Seven Years' War of the 1750s and '60s resulted in Britain conquering North America, and there was one pivotal battle that helped achieve this. The Battle of the Plains of Abraham took place September 13th, 1759 in Quebec City: both the French leader, the Marquis de Montcalm, and the British General, James Wolfe, were mortally wounded during the fight. But, by winning the territory, Britain ensured they were well on their way to taking the entire region. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com speaks with history educator Dan Snow about his book "Death or Victory: the Battle of Quebec and the birth of Empire," the fight on the Plains of Abraham, and its significance in world history.
