#10: Justin Hartley
From season 6 on, he played handsome billionaire Oliver Queen, also known as the superhero Green Arrow. Since then, Hartley has acted on shows like soap opera “The Young and the Restless”, and played himself on an episode of “Jane the Virgin”. His biggest TV role has been Kevin Pearson on the critically-acclaimed drama “This Is Us”. He’s even directed a few episodes of the show! Outside of television, Hartley has also been in films, such as the Netflix comedy “Senior Year”. Interestingly, he’s revisited comic book media, but not as Green Arrow. In the animated DC movie “Injustice”, he voiced none other than the Man of Steel himself: Superman. We guess the guy’s just great at playing heroes!
#9: Sam Jones III

For the first three seasons of Smallville, Sam Jones appeared as Pete Ross, one of Clark Kent’s best friends. Between season three and a single episode return in season seven, he had other TV and movie roles, including one in the 2006 sports drama “Glory Road.” From 2005 to 2009, Jones III had a recurring role on “ER”. He went on to star in the first season of “Blue Mountain State” in 2010, as well as the later spin-off film. Unfortunately, his career was interrupted in 2011 when Sam was sentenced to a year in prison on drug charges, but we’re glad to report that he later got back into acting. As of 2022, his last credited role was in the 2018 horror film “All Light Will End”. He’s also branched out into music, rapping under the name KIIINGSAM.
#8: Allison Mack
She played Chloe Sullivan, a character created specifically for “Smallville”, throughout the show’s ten-year run. Along with Pete Ross, Chloe was one of Clark’s closest friends. The same year that the series wrapped, she played the title character in a film called “Marilyn”. In 2012 and again in 2014, she had a recurring part on the comedy series “Wilfred”. She then guest starred on episodes of “The Following” and “American Odyssey”. Unfortunately, this is where the positive news about Mack ends. In 2018, she was arrested for her involvement with infamous cult NXIVM. She was accused of recruiting women into a dangerous secret society that engaged in human trafficking. Mack has since pleaded guilty to racketeering, and in 2021 she was sentenced to three years in prison.
#7: Aaron Ashmore
Starting in season 6, he played Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen. After “Smallville”, Ashmore continued to work steadily, starring on TV series like “Warehouse 13” and “Killjoys”. He’s been in a bunch of films, like the psychological thriller “Regression”, in which he acted alongside Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke. He’s also been in a handful of television films. In 2020, he began playing Duncan Locke on the supernatural Netflix series “Locke & Key”. As of 2022, you can catch him as Wheezer on the Canadian drama “SkyMed”. If you’re curious about his personal life, Aaron got married in 2014, and has since become a dad to two daughters.
#6: John Schneider

He played Clark’s caring adoptive father Jonathan Kent for the first 5 seasons of the show, later returning as a guest star for several episodes. In the years since he was a series regular, Schneider has racked up a long list of TV credits, including “Nip/Tuck”, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”, “90210”, and “Desperate Housewives”. In 2013, he began starring on the Oprah Winfrey Network soap opera “The Haves and the Have Nots”, in a role that spanned all eight seasons. As it turns out, John is very multitalented, writing and directing for film, as well as competing on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2018. Additionally, John is a country music singer! He’s been releasing albums since the 1980s.
#5: Annette O'Toole
She was Clark’s adoptive mother Martha Kent for six seasons, and returned as a guest star in seasons nine and ten. Post-“Smallville”, O’Toole has been busy working in film and on television, appearing on episodes of shows like “Grey's Anatomy”, “The Good Doctor”, and “Kidding”. She had a recurring role on the AMC drama “Halt and Catch Fire” in 2014 and 2015. As of 2019, Annette has played Mayor Hope McCrea on the Netflix series “Virgin River”. The show is filmed in the Canadian province of British Columbia, just like “Smallville” was. O’Toole’s last credited movie role was in the 2019 black comedy “Blow the Man Down”. No matter the medium, it’s always a delight to see her on our screens!
#4: Kristin Kreuk
For eight seasons, she played Lana Lang, the literal “girl next door” to the Kents who becomes Clark’s first love. The same year she left “Smallville”, she was the protagonist in the action movie “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li”. Kreuk then had several more film and TV roles before becoming the female lead, Detective Catherine Chandler, on the 2012 series “Beauty & the Beast”. She was an executive producer on the Canadian drama “Burden of Truth”, as well as its star for 4 seasons. Kristin has also done voice work for video games. As of 2022, she has a recurring role on the Amazon Prime Video thriller “Reacher”. Fun fact: lead character Jack Reacher is played by Alan Ritchson, who was Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman on “Smallville”.
#3: Michael Rosenbaum

This actor played Clark Kent’s greatest foe. [“That would be me…Lex Luthor.”] The same year he began playing eventual supervillain Lex, Rosenbaum also began voicing superhero The Flash on the animated series “Justice League”. He went on to voice different versions of the character in several shows, video games, and a movie, both during and after his time on “Smallville”. In 2014, he flexed his multiple talents by writing, directing, and starring in the comedy film “Back in the Day”. [“Is that what they say?”] In 2017’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”, Michael was physically unrecognizable as Martinex, but his voice was unmistakable. By 2018, he’d ventured into podcasts by hosting “Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum”, a celebrity interview series. In fact, former co-star Tom Welling has been a guest multiple times…but more on that later!
#2: Erica Durance
The Canadian actress joined “Smallville” in season 4 as spirited reporter Lois Lane, Chloe Sullivan’s cousin and Clark’s eventual love interest. After the series wrapped, Durance starred on the medical drama “Saving Hope” for 5 seasons. She’s also credited as a producer for the show. Erica returned to comic book TV in 2017 as Alura Zor-El, the main character’s mother, on “Supergirl”. In 2019, she sent our nostalgia meters into overdrive by reprising her iconic role as Lois on an episode of “Batwoman”, with Tom Welling as Clark. In addition to shows, Durance has acted in numerous television films, several of which were Christmas-themed. In 2022, she had a main role in the Hallmark romance “Color My World With Love”.

Toward the end of his decade-long stint as a pre-tights Clark Kent, Welling was an executive producer on The CW’s “Hellcats”. He then appeared in several movies, including the Nicholas Sparks adaptation “The Choice”. And we definitely can’t forget his time on “Lucifer” as LAPD Lieutenant Marcus Pierce. In “Batwoman”’s 2019 Arrowverse crossover episode, he reprised his role as Clark, along with Erica Durance as Lois. In 2020, he starred on the action series “Professionals”. Tom is married and has two children, and as of 2022, he’s the co-host of a podcast with former co-star Michael Rosenbaum. It’s called “Talk Ville”, and it centers around - you guessed it! - Welling and Rosenbaum rewatching every episode of “Smallville.” Talk about bringing it full circle!
