#10: Afterlife
“Angel Beats” (2010)

Lets start this list off by visiting the afterlife. Angel Beats does away with the idea of fire and brimstone or endless nothingness; instead, giving us an afterlife designed much like a familiar Japanese high school with all the fix-ens. Many teenagers call this place home, as it serves as a waiting zone for those whose souls are given a second chance. They aren’t the only ones, as other students such as “angels”, mock students who have no attached souls, inhabiting the school too. But who created it? How large is it? Is it just one giant enigma? At least you can have a lot of fun while you’re here.

#9: Earth
“Dragonball” series (1986-)

Welcome to Earth...uh wait a minute? Yes we said Earth. In the “Dragon Ball” universe Earth is rather similar to ours, except much more technologically advanced, mystical and full of interesting beings and characters. Science is thriving, while also being used in combination with magic, to create even newer technology, making things pretty exciting, all be it a little more dangerous. But come on, sensu beans that can heal your wounds? How cool would that be? Oh, did we forget to mention its also the home of the Z Fighters?

#8: Aincrad
“Sword Art Online” (2012-14)

How awesome would it be to live in a fantasy video game that offers real freedom? Be the hero or not, the choice is yours. The main setting in SAO as well as a newer version in Alfheim Online, Aincrad can give you that experience. Fight your way through all 100 levels of the dungeon, or meet the love of your life, settle down, get married and open a shop. Aincrad is designed to be as glorious as it is endless. There is the possibility of dying, but at least now you can just respawn.

#7: Death City
“Soul Eater” (2008-09)

Its time to enroll in the Death Weapon Meister Academy. Existing in the Halloween-themed fantasy that is “Soul Eater”, Death City is a city created around the Shinigami and students at the DWMA. A rather sillier entry on our list, a newcomer would be able to easily settle into the academy or open a shop in town. Sure there would be some danger involved when dealing with the Keshin threat or a few measly witches, but then you can show off your skills as a weapon or a meister. Just make sure your new home isn’t destroyed when Death City decides to move.

#6: Amestris
“Fullmetal Alchemist” series (2003-09)

Alchemy, the science of understanding, deconstructing and then reconstructing matter The fusion of art an science, who wouldn’t want to live in a world where they could learn to do amazing feats like this! The encompassing nation in both “Full Metal Alchemist” series’, Amestris can be seen as an umbrella country comprising many different and unique nations and ethnicities. Like the world of Dragon Ball, the world of FMA is at times dangerous, but we think that danger is worth the risk if we could have a chance at becoming alchemists ourselves, or perhaps find out what can equal the value of a human soul

#5: Pirate World
“One Piece” (1999-)

Lets leave bureaucracy behind and sail the high seas. In this world, there are no rules or regulations, just plenty of piracy and adventure. Imagine sailing across the ocean with your best friends, wind in your hair, just looking for adventure every day. While most of the action takes place in the ocean known as the Grand Line, there will be plenty of interesting characters to encounter on your adventure. Now begins the race, who will be the next pirate king?

#4: The Milky Way Galaxy
“Cowboy Bebop” (1998-99)

Now that we’ve conquered the high seas, it’s time to tackle outer space. Come aboard the Bebop and explore the Milky Way Galaxy. Who wouldn’t leap at the chance to become an epic space cowboy and earn bu-ku woolongs. Now you can finally grab that dream by the space horns and settle in for an insane adventure. If you are lucky, maybe you can even join the Bebop crew, lease your own ship and be featured on Big Shot, the bounty hunting news network.

#3: Earth-Land
“Fairy Tail” (2009-)

So you have been a pirate and a bounty hunter, why not a wizard? During your travels throughout Earth-Land, you will be able to have the pick of the litter from a large variety of magic. With endless possibilities when it comes to the combination of magic, this could open up momentous opportunities for you and your friends. Getting into the Fairy Tail guild isn’t even that difficult, and these guys sure know how to party!

#2: The Spirit Realm
“Spirited Away” (2001)

Ever wonder what the spirit of a radish does to unwind after a long day? Chances are it's a warm soak in the finest worm salt water at Yoruba's bathhouse, but there is no shortage of things to do out in the Spirit Realm. Step through the tunnel and see this beautifully animated world come alive at night with all manners of colorful spirits ranging from oddly adorable to simply repulsive. Although hanging out with spirits may seem terrifyingly bizarre at first, a couple of days working in the bathhouse will show you that they are a lot like the humans you would find back here; some of them kind, others devious, but most merely trying to make a living. Just be careful not to eat too much of the delicious looking Ghibli food, least you want to put on some unflattering weight.

Before we adventure into our new world, here are a few honorable mentions.

The Elemental Lands
“Naruto” series (2002-)

Neon Alley
“Accel World” (2012)

Duelist Kingdom
“Yu-Gi-Oh!” series (2000-04)

The Twelve Kingdoms
“The Twelve Kingdoms” (2002-03)

#1: Kanto Region
“Pokemon” series (1997-)

Ash has spent a lifetime trying to become a Pokemon master, when can it be our turn to give it a shot? Rolling hills and grasslands, admit it, you’ve dreamed of visiting this place yourself and capturing your favourite Pokemon. The huge variety of towns and villages are filled with opportunity, and you can become anything you want, from Pokemon trainer, to Pokemon vet, photographer or scientist. I guess we’ll just have to settle for the video games.
