Top 10 Artists We Hope Tour in 2017

In support of her acclaimed 2013 debut album Pure Heroine, this New Zealand artist hit the road for the aptly titled “Lorde Tour.” But Ella O’Connor aka “Lorde” didn’t immediately release a follow-up release. In fact, she hasn’t released one at all. Thanks to her Twitter account, though, we know her sophomore production will drop soon, and you know what that means: a brand-new tour. Yes, we do realize that Lorde’s earned a reputation for her unique style of dancing, yet she’s so unbelievably creative that her stage shows will surely have some innovative visual themes to complement her distinct musical concepts.
 

While Lorde is a live show wildcard, this pop superstar is well-versed in epic, theatrical performances. Given that Gaga recently unveiled her fifth studio album,Joanne, in October 2016, she’s clearly ready for a worldwide tour, especially after the three-week test run, “Dive Bar Tour” and performance at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Will Gaga stay true to the America vibe for a full throttle show? Probably not, but we can expect plenty of more stripped-down performances, with only Lady G and her favorite guitar. Remember, Mojoholics, she doesn’t exactly need all that tour money, so she just may decide to expand her minimalistic tour and keep it simple. Whatever happens, we’re sure the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show will keep all fans happy.
  

One could argue that the glory days are long gone for this progressive metal band, mostly because they haven’t released a new studio album since 2006. Yet, Tool hit the road in early 2016, building upon their legacy as one of the most original live acts of the 21st century, all the while reminding pop culture of their artistic integrity within a saturated industry. They’ve also been in the studio, apparently perfecting their long-awaited comeback album – and hey, if you’re a legit Tool fan, it’s certainly worth the wait. With a new release likely comes a new tour, and there’s no doubt that Tool will bring it for their fans, embracing their collective creativity to the core. 
 

When this American pop star announces new tour dates, heads unsurprisingly explode from pure excitement. Like the aforementioned Lady Gaga, Katy Perry goes all in with her international tours, such as “The Prismatic Tour” of 2014-2015, for example, which raked in a couple hundred million dollars. For the 2016 Summer Olympics, she released the timely single “Rise,” but it remains unclear as to when Katy may deliver a full album, especially considering the reports that she’s writing new material upon Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump. It’s coming, though – you can bet on that – and her subsequent tour will certainly be a banger, at least in terms of Katy Perry’s inspirational pop star aesthetic. 
 

From our native Montreal, this art rock collective provides a musical experience all their own. It’s already been a few years since Arcade Fire’s eclectic Reflektoralbum, so the crew may be a bit rusty, yet they’ve confirmed that a full studio release will come in 2017. So, while the tour isn’t official, Arcade Fire HAS been announced as headliners for a few of 2017’s biggest festivals including Isle of Wight Festival, but it’s the band’s own tours where they really shine, bringing the sights and sounds of world cultures and anthemic choruses to stadiums and arenas across the globe. Just the anticipation of the music itself will have fans drooling, and the conceptual themes will provide clues about future live shows.
 

Like his wife Beyoncé, pop culture pundits love to discuss this entertainment mogul’s personal and professional life. But given the lack of new music in recent years, it can be easy to forget that Jay is arguably the defining lyricist of hip-hop history, at least given his durability. Earlier in 2016, Hova released the single “Spiritual” – which takes on new meaning given the setbacks of fellow MC and friend Kanye West. There’s been speculation about a “Watch the Throne 2” collaboration, but it seems more likely that Jay-Z will produce a new solo venture, and a subsequent follow-up tour would no doubt be eventful, to say the least. 
 

Like Jay-Z, this man understands the hustle, certainly from a touring perspective. In 2016, the documentary “Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids” chronicled the specifics of the 134-show “20/20 Experience World Tour,” and it’s completely understandable if JT needs a break. That being said, we demand more touring, and Justin seems interested in making even more culturally relevant music, considering the appeal of “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. Somehow, it seems that Timberlake will ALWAYS be touring, and a potential 2017 residency in Vegas would allow him to further showcase his Sinatra-like skills and musical versatility.
  

We can already hear the trolls – “Oasis broke up, WatchMojo!” Hold up, though, because the 2016 documentary “Oasis: Supersonic” could potentially be the jump off for a 2017 tour. Yeah, it’s highly unlikely given the turbulent nature of the Gallagher brothers – and because they haven’t released a new album in nearly a decade. Even so, it only makes sense that Oasis would at least consider recording new music, which would hopefully equate to some long-awaited live shows. After all, these guys are family, and their fan-base represent an extension of that, in a way. So, Oasis – give the people what they want and just make it happen.
 

According to their own Jamie Hewlett, Gorillaz are not messing around these days. New music has been confirmed, and it’s about time given the long wait since 2010’sPlastic Beach. Obviously, the virtual reality nature of Gorilla productions equates to a lot of hard work, so the wait is justified. Some bands thrash hard, and some artists just need their core instruments – but these guys combine a variety of artistic elements to capture their mesmerizing studio vibe. We want a 2017 tour, Mojoholics, and we know that you do, too. Fortunately, it seems likely that we’re in for yet another chapter of hypnotic live performances.  
 

So, people are talkin’ about Daft Punk. If you haven’t heard, they’re talking about the potential for an “Alive 2017” concert tour, but some outlets maintain that die-hard fans shouldn’t get all worked up. It’s been a full decade since Daft Punk hit the road on their “Alive 2007” tour, but they’re not exactly on the fringes of pop culture these days. They’re #1 on our list because of their brilliant touring past and continued relevancy, and if there’s one set of musicians that feels timely and relevant NOW, well, it’s unquestionably Daft Punk. Of course, the anticipation aspect has always been part of the promotion package for top-notch acts. And so, we wait…
