#10: Manjiro “Mikey” Sano

“Tokyo Revengers” (2021-)

The leader of Tokyo Manji, or Toman, Majiro Sano, better known as Mikey, is widely seen as the best fighter amongst all of Tokyo’s gangs, despite his young age! Regarded by many of his peers as invincible, Mikey may be short, but those who underestimate him will soon earn a kick to the head! Mikey has not only incredible natural talent as a fighter, but also incredible endurance, letting him fight on long after he should go down. His never-say-die attitude and incredible charisma have earned him the respect of his followers and his enemies – even if he needs to knock the latter down a peg or two to get it.

#9: Inosuke Hashibira

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” (2019-)

Comin’ through everyone! A wild child of the Demon Slayer corps, the boar-masked lunkhead may be completely clueless in social situations, but his aptitude in battle is even better than his looks – and he is shockingly pretty! His sense of touch is so refined he can sense vibrations through the air like a radar. His body is so flexible, he can dislocate all his joints and even move his own internal organs! And while he’s by no means the strongest Demon Slayer, Inosuke’s love of fighting is almost unrivaled, as is his literally pigheaded persistence.

#8: Kenichi Shirahama

“Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple” (2006-14)

He may be new to martial arts, but they don’t call the show “the mightiest disciple” for nothing! While he begins the series as a weak student, Kenichi quickly develops into a powerful and cunning fighter. Trained in half a dozen martial arts, Kenichi is able to take on and defeat opponents who are much older and more experienced than he is. While not naturally gifted, Kenichi achieves his strength through effort, as well as his ability to think on his feet and develop strategies during battle. Kenichi may not technically be a master, but he’s well on his way.

#7: Ohma Tokita

“Kengan Ashura” (2019-)

Ohma loves a good fight. And getting roped into the Kengan Annihilation Tournament means he gets to fight plenty of powerful opponents. The easy going Ashura loves to pick apart his opponents’ moves, analyzing their strengths before overwhelming them and leaving them utterly defeated. His fighting style is highly flexible, and by increasing the flow of blood to his heart with “the Advance,” he can increase his strength and speed to nearly superhuman levels. No wonder Karla wants to make a new lineage of assassin babies with him.

#6: Rock Lee

“Naruto” franchise (2002-)

There are god-like ninjas with magical powers in the world of “Naruto.” Rock Lee can barely do any of that. Instead – he punches and kicks things…and he’s really, really good at it. He may be kind of a dork, but don’t let Lee’s bushy eyebrows fool you – he works hard! Lee constantly trains and pushes himself through ridiculous workout routines and wearing weights that drastically increase his already impressive speed once removed. He can also push his speed and power to even further heights by releasing the 8 Inner Gates, chakra points inside the body that let him move at lightning speed and attain power that rivals some of the strongest ninjas in his world. And for love of everything, don’t let him near alcohol!

#5: Adam

“Record of Ragnarok” (2021-)

In the tournament between gods and mortals to decide humanity’s fate, the first man makes most of the gods want to pray. Adam, the first human, according to Christianity, is closer to the divine than his progeny. His physical strength and speed surpass even those of many gods. But his true strength lies in his eyes. Adam is able to replicate any technique that he sees and use it against his opponents. Using this, he’s able to turn the powerful techniques of a god of Zeus’ power right back at him. Adam’s resolve and endurance are superhuman, and even after losing the use of his eyes and eventually his life, Adam kept fighting, even dying standing up! The first man was truly number one!

#4: Kenpachi Zaraki

“Bleach” (2004-12)

A bloodthirsty loose cannon, Kenpachi Zaraki is a wild Shinigami captain whose love of violence is unrivaled in his series. Kenpachi will eagerly seek out strong opponents, regardless of what his superiors want. Not only does he have phenomenal strength, but his reflexes in battle even let him fight without sight or sound. He also goes out of his way to give himself disadvantages, like putting bells in his hair and wearing an eyepatch that seals part of his power, just so his fights will last longer! Kenpachi even lacks the ability to use his Zanpakuto the way other captains do. The dude’s so strong, he attained his rank on pure strength and combat ability! What a beast!

#3: Yujiro Hanma

“Baki” franchise (2001-)

Baki’s great and terrible father, Yuujirou Hanma is infamous as the strongest creature on Earth. His feats of strength read like Chuck Norris facts – he once stopped an earthquake by punching the ground, he fought a giant African elephant and ate it, the American government surrendered to him! But Yuujirou’s power is just one part of what makes him such an obstacle for his son to overcome. His aptitude for combat is incredible, having knowledge of virtually every martial art. Yuujirou can replicate techniques he sees almost instantly. He may be an awful person, but he’s got so much swagger and skill, that it’s hard not to admire him.

#2: Kaido

“One Piece” (1999-)

From the world’s strongest creature, we go to…the world’s strongest creature. One of the four strongest pirates in the “One Piece” world, Kaido is beastly even among the ranks of the Four Emperors. Obsessed with finding a meaningful death in battle, Kaido is continually disappointed that most of his foes can’t measure up. Possessing a nigh indestructible body, as well as the ability to turn into a huge dragon that can flatten castles with fiery blasts, Kaido is borderline unbeatable one-on-one. Whether it’s on land, on the sea, or in the air, always bet on Kaido.

#1: Goku

“Dragon Ball” franchise (1986-)

If you’re surprised, we have to question your knowledge of anime. The hero of the long-running “Dragon Ball” series, Son Goku loves fighting more than he loves wearing orange – and that’s most of his wardrobe. Since he was a kid, Goku has always strived to improve as a fighter, challenging stronger and stronger foes both in tournaments and in life-or-death fights. And on his journey, Goku has become not only one of the strongest fighters on Earth, but arguably among several universes. For as much as he takes it seriously, Goku has an infectious joy for fighting that has helped make him an enduringly popular protagonist.
