Top 10 Best Bratz Challenge Makeovers
#10: Sophie Louise
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where this trend originated, but all we know is that by early 2019, it was everywhere. British vlogger Sophie Louise decided to hop on the bandwagon, but she took it one step further than many of the others that came before her. Most of the challenges featured Instagrammers or YouTubers from the neck up, but Sophie opted for a full body transformation, even adding colored contacts, hair extensions and an outfit to finish the whole look off. The final effect was on point and also surprisingly wearable - minus the extensions perhaps.
#9: @beatsbylizzie
This Instagrammer is no stranger to over the top makeup looks, all of which she completes while adhering to a vegan and cruelty free philosophy. Her Bratz Challenge was one of the most accurate we’ve seen, serving up pink Barbie-esque perfection. Her eye makeup was totally flawless, emulating the doll as accurately as possible, and the way she lined her lips made them look exactly like her source of inspiration. She also helpfully shared all the products she used in the comments, and you may be surprised to find that you already have some of these items in your kit!
#8: Christen Dominique
After a grueling selection process, YouTuber Christen Dominique opted to copy Bratz Doll Jade’s look because they share similar features. Sylvia Gani was featured in the video as well, styling herself after Yasmin. Both women used the affordable Sylvia Gani x BH cosmetics Palette for the entire eye look, making this one achievable even for those on a budget! The final version is also surprisingly wearable, with neither of them going too over the top. The little devil horns and tail make the look one which would work well for Halloween!
#7: @pranksterka
Polish makeup artist and influencer Justyna Miarecka, aka pranksterka, is used to trying out different makeup trends for her followers on Instagram. In fact, she looks so different in each one of her photos that it’s almost impossible to tell that they’re all of the same person! She often uses elaborate makeup techniques and wigs to tell her beauty stories, and she pulled out all the stops for this one. While some artists delivered more wearable looks, this one is meant to be viewed with the wearer’s eyes closed, giving the illusion of a Bratz doll’s oversized peepers.
#6: @lenkalul
British Instagrammer Lena Bagrowska AKA lenkalul has found a niche producing beauty content on the platform, and has delivered not one but TWO great entries to the Bratz Challenge! In her first, she rocked a high ponytail and threw on some epic winged eye makeup as well as a couple of beauty marks. In her second, she picked another blonde Bratz doll - who looks shockingly similar to her to begin with! - and completed her look with a glossy red lip and even a matching red beret. We’d love to see her do even more!
#5: Shaaanxo
With 3.2 million subscribers on YouTube, and another million and a half on Instagram, Shannon Harris aka Shaaanxo is one of the biggest beauty influencers in the business. She released her version of the Bratz challenge at the end of January, picking a classic girly blonde Bratz doll that perfectly complements the normal look that her followers have come to know and love. Of course, this makeup style is more over the top than her typical everyday ones, but she still manages to look like herself, even in costume.
#4: dope2111
Long before the Bratz Challenge was officially a thing, this YouTuber was posting her Bratz transformation in October of 2017. Promise Phan, better known as dope2111, is known for transforming herself into famous characters and celebrities, and this is definitely one of her best, and among the most popular with over 14 million views. In her video description, she said she had her subscribers vote on whether they wanted to see her done up like a Bratz Doll or as Regina George from “Mean Girls” and they opted for Bratz. We’d still like to see your Regina please!
#3: ThatGirlShaeXO
With every passing day, it seems that more and more beauty influencers are taking a stab at this ever popular trend. In February 2019, that included Shae of ThatGirlShaeXO, which is considered by many to be one of the most underrated makeup channels on the platform. She uses a unique technique for this look, essentially creating the doll’s eyes using both her own lids and the space underneath her eyes. Although it may look a bit strange when her eyes are open, it totally works when she closes them! While she’s a bit self-deprecating about the look, we think she isn’t giving herself nearly enough credit.
#2: NikkieTutorials
With over 11 million subscribers, several brand collaborations, and a number of sponsorships, NikkieTutorials is undeniably one of the biggest makeup vloggers around. Considering the fact that she found her success with other conceptual videos, like her Power of Makeup series - which includes a collab with Kim Kardashian herself! - it was no surprise to see her take on the Brats Challenge. Her usual glam look is pretty extra and doll-like to begin with, but she still managed to impress us, going all out for one of her best looks yet.
Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
