Top 10 BEST Disney Channel Crossovers

Top 10 BEST Disney Channel Crossovers
VOICE OVER: Emily - WatchMojo WRITTEN BY: Mark Sammut
Kingdom Hearts is great and all, but how about these Disney Channel crossovers?

Oh, the magic of the Disneyverse. Welcome to MsMojo and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Disney Channel Crossovers.

For this list, we’re looking at the Disney Channel’s best series team-ups, surprising come togethers, and crossover specials.

#10: “Charlie Shakes It Up!”
“Good Luck Charlie” (2010-14) & “Shake It Up” (2010-13)

Be it "Hannah Montana" or "Sonny With a Chance," Disney loves to take a conventional family comedy and throw in a dose of magic or glamor. As "Good Luck Charlie" focuses exclusively on the family comedy aspect and "Shake It Up" primarily revolves around a TV show, a crossover between the two makes perfect sense. "Charlie Shakes It Up!" sees "Good Luck Charlie's" Amy roping Teddy and Charlie into a scheme to appear on an episode of "Shake It Up, Chicago;" however, since none of them can dance, CeCe and Rocky step-in to lend a hand. The humor is excellent and the episode has one of "Good Luck Charlie's" best end credits scenes.

#9: “Hercules and the Arabian Night”
“Hercules: The Animated Series” (1998-99) & “Aladdin” (1994-95)

Herc and Al might be mostly known for their big-screen adventures, but both franchises were adapted into animated series during the '90s. Along with bringing back the cast of "Aladdin" for one last adventure, "Hercules and the Arabian Night" is just a delightful romp that draws together two of Disney's best villains. Jafar and Hades deserve their own spin-off, while Hercules and Aladdin have a pretty decent fight before teaming up to take on Jafar in the Underworld. Sadly, Genie is a bit of a no-show; nevertheless, "Hercules and the Arabian Night" is still a great Disney crossover.

#8: “Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year” (2012)
“Austin & Ally” (2011-16) & “Jessie” (2011-15)

A special episode of both “Jessie” and “Austin & Ally,” "Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year" is admittedly a bit of a mouthful, but this crossover does genuinely go all out. This special has multiple musical performances, a couple of new songs, road trip shenanigans, and Jessie flying a helicopter so Austin can perform at Times Square just before the start of a New Year. It is cool to see both the "Austin & Ally" and "Jessie" casts out of their natural habitats, while the crossover concludes with a fantastic duet between Austin and Jessie.

#7: “The Duck Knight Returns!”
“DuckTales” (2017-) & “Darkwing Duck” (1991-92)

In an episode that may trigger nostalgia overload, 2017's "DuckTales" staged a loving tribute to "Darkwing Duck," albeit with a twist. In the "DuckTales'" universe, "Darkwing Duck" is a TV show, with the terror that flaps in the night being performed by Jim Starling. "The Duck Knight Returns!" sees Scrooge financing a big-budget movie reboot of "Darkwing Duck" without Starling's involvement, causing the actor to fly off the deep end. Despite not taking place in the same universe as the original "Darkwing Duck," casting the hero's original voice actor as Starling goes a long way in making this crossover feel legit. It also helps that the episode is really funny.

#6: “Good Luck Jessie: NYC Christmas”
“Good Luck Charlie” (2010-14) & “Jessie” (2011-15)

Disney always pulls out all the stops around Christmas time, and what better way to celebrate the holidays than a crossover between "Good Luck Charlie" and "Jessie." An hour-long special that can be split into two parts, "Good Luck Jessie: NYC Christmas" keeps things simple by only having Teddy and PJ mingle with "Jessie's" cast, although simple might not be the aptest word to describe an episode that has a reindeer, a plotline with a "Hangover"-Esque twist, and a central mystery concerning some vanishing Christmas gifts. Disney crossovers can occasionally get pretty unrealistic, but Jessie and Teddy randomly bumping into each other on the New York Subway might take the cake.

#5: “Rufus”
“Lilo & Stitch: The Series” (2003-06) & “Kim Possible” (2002-07)

The "Lilo And Stitch" animated series produced many great crossovers, with the best one featuring none-other-than Kim Possible, Ron Stoppable, and various other characters from the spy show. Dr. Drakken and Dr. Hamsterviel team-up to capture and clone Stitch, a predicament that convinces Pleakley to bring in a professional hero. As both series blend comedy and action, "Kim Possible" and "Lilo and Stitch" are a match made in heaven, with the casts playing off each other seamlessly. Jumba mistaking Rufus for one of Stitch's cousins is the episode's highlight, but the whole crossover is a delight.

#4: “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana”
“Wizards of Waverly Place” (2007-12), “The Suite Life on Deck” (2008-11) & “Hannah Montana” (2006-11)

The second of its kind, "Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana" is a three-part crossover that brought together the Disney Channel's most popular sitcoms of 2009. With "The Suite Life on Deck's" SS Tipton serving as the anchor binding these three shows together, the crossover loses a few points for mostly limiting the individual casts to their own isolated storylines, with the "Wizards of Waverly Places'" characters never even meeting Miley Cyrus and company. Despite, at times, feeling like a missed opportunity, this event is still a charming and nostalgic time-piece that captures three iconic Disney shows at the height of their fame.

#3: “Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel”
“Phineas and Ferb” (2007-15) & Marvel

Whether showing up on "Milo Murphy's Law" or reenacting "A New Hope," "Phineas and Ferb" just seems to get crossovers. A direct result of Marvel Entertainment becoming a subsidiary of Disney, "Phineas and Ferb" welcomed the legendary comic heroes for a hilarious romp that involved Dr. Doofenshmirtz accidentally rendering the Avengers powerless and succeeding where the likes of Red Skull have previously failed. "Mission Marvel" is fast-paced, cleverly written, and filled with respect and love for the source material. Even those who are not huge fans of "Phineas and Ferb" should find something to enjoy here.

#2: “That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana”
“That's So Raven” (2003-07), “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” (2005-08) & “Hannah Montana” (2006-11)

While not the first-ever Disney Channel crossover, "That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana" is the most significant, as it set the precedent for the many live-action multi-show events that would follow. Split into three parts, with each series handling one episode, this 2006 event makes great use of "That's So Raven" and "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody"’s endearing sense of humor. As the new kid on the block, at times, "Hannah Montana" feels like a bit of an afterthought, although Miley's argument with London is one of the crossover's brightest moments.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

“Take This Job and Love It”
“Hannah Montana” (2006-11) & “Cory in the House” (2007-08)

“Weasels on Deck”
“The Suite Life on Deck” (2008-11) & “I’m in the Band” (2009-11)

“Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars”
“Phineas and Ferb” (2007-15) & “Star Wars” franchise (1977-)

“Jessie's Aloha-holidays with Parker and Joey”
“Jessie” (2011-15) & “Liv and Maddie” (2013-17)

“Spats”
“Lilo & Stitch: The Series” (2003-06) & “The Proud Family” (2001-05)

#1: “Monstober Spooktacular Weekend” (2015)

Taking place over two days, Disney's "Monster Spooktacular Weekend" consists of seven different crossover episodes featuring the same number of live-action sitcoms. While each episode was limited to two shows, this was still a highly ambitious project by Disney and basically confirmed that all the channel's live-action shows share the same universe. Loosely tied together through a Halloween theme, the "Monster Spooktacular Weekend's" episodes are surprisingly consistent in terms of quality; even the weakest of the bunch, "Girl Meets World's" crossover with "Austin & Ally," is a decent watch. This event was such a success that Disney should consider staging something similar every year.

WHY IS MISSION MARVEL (the worst P&F episode ever) NUMBER 3 AND WHY IS PHINEAS AND FERB STAR WARS (the 4th best episode) ONLY AN HONORABLE MENTION?!?!?!? (at least the Phineas and Ferb effect wasn't included)
