Top 10 Best That's My Jam Moments
#10: “Slay It, Don’t Spray It” with Patti LaBelle, Billy Porter, Darren Criss & Sarah Hyland
This particular game of “Slay It, Don’t Spray It” has a star-studded lineup of participants and allows artists like Patti LaBelle to test their musical knowledge. It starts with a great rendition of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” which enables LaBelle and Billy Porter to take the lead. Sarah Hyland follows up with Lizzo’s “Juice,” encountering a lyric mishap in the process. Hyland and her partner Darren Criss both end up drenched by the end of the segment. It all leads to the final song, putting everyone up against The Weather Girls’ “It’s Raining Men.” The stars rise to the occasion and create a dramatic finish.
#9: Blake Shelton Performs “Thank You for Being a Friend”
Known as a country hitmaker, Blake Shelton can also rock out when given the chance. If you need proof, see how he handles “The Golden Girls” theme “Thank You for Being a Friend.” The singer also imbues this song with an attitude that gives it a new feeling. Shelton even takes time to draw host Jimmy Fallon into the performance, which is a nice touch. And Fallon and the other contestants clearly have a blast watching him own this song. It might not be a typical choice for Shelton, but he uses that to his advantage by showing his range.
#8: Quinta Brunson Performs as Dua Lipa
For the game “Baby Got Backup,” Quinta Brunson tries to keep up with Dua Lipa’s “Levitating.” Singing and dancing along without any prep, and wearing special sneakers to boot, Brunson dives head first into the complex routine. Sure, she’s a little behind the choreography, but she fumbles through the track with comedic swagger. Another dancer even picks her up in a lift you have to see to believe, and Brunson’s reaction is priceless. All of this makes for a wonderful trainwreck, showing that being a pop star is tougher than it looks.
#7: “Disco Charades” Goes Wrong
If you think regular charades are hard, try the disco version. Jay Pharoah and Nikki Glaser start things off with the latter giving clues. The comedians aren’t exactly the best match, but that just makes Pharoah deciphering Glaser’s motions even more amusing. What we have here is a definite failure to communicate. You might think all this confusion would mean that Terry Crews and Dan Finnerty have this all sewn up. You would think wrong, as they just take things to the next level. Crews’ moves and Finnerty’s guesses are worth the price of admission, turning this into comedic gold.
#6: Renée Elise Goldsberry’s Broadway Rendition of “SexyBack”
Bringing a theatrical presence to “That’s My Jam,” Renée Elise Goldsberry is assigned the task of performing “SexyBack” in a classic Broadway style. The Tony winner steps up to the microphone fully prepared to transform the song. With supreme confidence, Goldsberry shows why she’s an acclaimed artist in this charismatic performance. She’s also able to give the Justin Timberlake track a gravitas that we never knew it had. The high notes come easy for this vocalist, transforming this song into a stage number for the ages. Drawing laughs and cheers, this remix entertains everybody and leads to a fantastic finale.
#5: Alexa Bliss Sings “All the Small Things”
When performing “All the Small Things,” Alexa Bliss has to worry about more than just singing the song. For this “Magic Mic” segment, she has to shift between microphones, each of which alters her vocal in some unexpected way. Bliss doesn’t let this challenge throw her, taking each change with a sense of humor. With her voice going low and high, makes her way to the iconic chorus without letting her energy flag. She even laughs her way to the end as the audio contorts her voice even further. The game takes karaoke to an extreme, but it works due to Bliss’ willingness to go with the flow.
#4: Keke Palmer Combines Dua Lipa & Journey
Multi-talented Keke Palmer proves she is more than ready for this game of “Opposites Attract.” And that’s good, because she is given the unenviable task of blending the vocal stylings of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” with Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin.’” Combining stage charisma with an incredible voice, Palmer shines on this impromptu performance. Making two songs as different as these into a cohesive performance is definitely not easy, but Palmer somehow makes it seem effortless. The artist even impresses her fellow contestants, who can appreciate her skill. Building to a chorus that is one killer mashup, Palmer pulls off a win here that is hard to top.
#3: Chloe vs. Halle
For this version of “Mixtape Medley Showdown,” Chloe and Halle Bailey perform some memorable breakup songs. They easily trade off amazing performances that span several genres and singing styles. While Chloe delivers with Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor,” Halle completely sells her own version of Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated.” The latter even turns into a country superstar during her take on “Before He Cheats.” Both siblings blow away the crowd, and also do so in their great work during the “Slay It, Don’t Spray It” segment. Their finale combines the likes of Olivia Rodrigo and Kelly Clarkson, making for material that could easily fit on an amazing cover album.
#2: Kelly Clarkson & Ariana Grande Showdown
In a battle between two dynamic voices, everybody ends up winning. After all, what’s not to like about hearing Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande sing their hearts out? Providing their best renditions of other female singers’ songs, these performers deliver exciting covers of singers running the gamut from Britney Spears to Alanis Morissette. Clarkson gives powerful takes on the latter as well as Toni Braxton as she reminds everyone of why she’s a star. Grande also stands out with impressions that nail the sound, cadence, and personality of artists like Céline Dion. Both vocalists give show stopping performances that wow the audience at every turn.

#1: Adam Lambert Sings “The Muffin Man”
Even if you know this performer from his “American Idol” days, his solo work, or his performances with Queen, he still brings some musical surprises to “That’s My Jam.” Adam Lambert is given the task of performing “The Muffin Man” in the style of the one and only Cher. Taking the stage with confidence, the vocalist makes this classic children’s song sound like a modern pop number. Lambert also shows off his range with a groove that calls to mind hits like “Believe.” While it might seem like an impossible task, the performance shows that in the right hands, musical magic can come from the most unexpected situations.
